Where Are You Photos [2022]

Went to Tampa for a work conference.
Not the most scenic part, but ok.

Got home on Wednesday and caught the SECDEF’s C-32 on the ramp

And yesterday the other TN ANG unit stopped in to drop off the local Army NG.

That C-17 hails from my hometown

The torpedo room of HDMS Springeren. It was very hot, very cramped and I could only imagine how smelly and grimy it would be after being at sea for a month with 24 dudes on board.

“Listen up crew: if you do not make sure those fasteners are done up right, the machine will vibrate itself apart once the gun fires, so always triple check those!”

Visiting Yggdrasil the big Lego tree in Billund.

The Lego House is amazing. Such fun! We spent all day building things and admiring other peoples’ creations.

Legoland itself is amazing as well. The kids are a tad small yet for roller coasters, but they had a whale of a time with the tamer stuff.

So quiet. Let me take a breather here…

Did you notice the “carving” in the tree trunk?

I sometimes go to the Gurkha museum talks as they are 1. Good. 2. The curry is to die for.

A future event if you can be in Winchester UK on Halloween. Scary stories from Gurkha history would be SCARY. Because they are themselves the scariest people on a battlefield. One of my proudest moments as a soldier was being saluted by a Gurkha.

Gurkha Museum After Dark - Saturday 29th October from 6pm

This Halloween, join us for a late-night opening and hear ghostly and gruesome tales from 200 years

Still don’t see the images, but if and when that functionality ever comes back online (please make it so!), this is the water play thing at the school my kids go to. You may remember, it’s where I rolled into the landscaping racket. The school’s principal asked me to repair or remove the thing, as it had rotten to such a state that it was becoming a liability.

So of course I set about digging out the old posts. About 800 kilos of concrete came out from under it! Put in new posts out of hard wood, that won’t rot ever, and rebuilt two pieces that were completely unsalvageable. Looks like it’s sturdy enough to last a while, and was very much fun to build. Took us about three days with two guys.
