I use the base wreckfest vehicle and just upgrade it. It’s perfectly fine. You dont need to pay to win.

Same. And Wreckfest is one of those games that (IMO) really depends on servers being available for multiplayer… Many of the servers I’ve played on limit to the Class C cars, which are the starter level ones. Easy to upgrade and be competitive (if it’s the kind of server where any racing happens).

Good to hear. I want my boys to have to work for things…so I’m glad there is a way to progress without buying the level-ups. That is also why they get to start with the C-101 Aviojet in DCS World and not the Hornet…

You don’t actually pay to play. You do the single player missions to up your skill and “money” to buy upgrades, and it also gives you cars when you complete some of the career races. There’s also a newer feature with daily/weekly/and monthly SP tournaments where you can earn a lot of moola and fame points. The career is a good way to try out different cars and get a good feel for them, and once you earn them or buy them with your game earned money you can use them in MP.
That said, MP is a blast…as long as you remember it’s WRECKfest and don’t try to take it too seriously. I get pissed off sometimes trying to race clean…but then I remember…lol. You do also earn money and skill in MP.
I finally got sucked into DCS and with my country DSL internets it’s about to kill me with the downloads. DCS World took about 24 hours, and the last patch with the F-5 and Nevada map I bought took another 20 hours.
Wreckfest doesn’t know how to do patches or hotfixes…they patch or add content about once a month and make you download the entire 4Gig game again…which also kills me because it takes a few hours for me. I’m not sure how much Wreckfest I’ll be doing while I’m learning the DCS stuff, and have my flight stuff set up instead of my racing gear.

If you don’t MP or buy add-on it’s safe to disable auto update in steam as usually its just DLC. Update for new tracks though maybe,

Can you do 2 player split screen on it? Anyone tried?
I just picked up the Off Road DLC for Wreckfest. It has several vehicles in it, but I mainly got it for the offroad trucks/stadium truck. I absolutely love short course truck racing.
I have never driven an off road truck, but it seems to handle like I would expect one to handle. I was racing against the AI and had a blast.
