I don’t think it is. From credits on the site, I believe that they created everything inhouse.

Yeah. I had a look at the ‘behind the scenes’ videos and they made it from scratch 
I still like it and hope they do a season 2. But if it is custom made, even if they used a video game engine, is it machinima or a cgi short film?
By definition, to be classified as machinima, it should use the game engine to create the animation; however, these days, I think creators use both terms interchangeably. I’m guessing creating a machinima does not require as much effort as a cgi short because you’re using the game engine and assets.
