We lasted til halftime in the rain in Pittsburgh before we decided we’d suffered enough and called it. Good news is, the bars were very empty with the rain all over downtown!

The NFL is in Frankfurt today.

Dolphins sadly lost, but it was a great game.
I contemplated getting a ticket, but 200€ is a lot for a single game. Probably would have tried to get one if it had been a Cowboys game, but even then… I have a bit of anxiety when there are many people around, I wouldn’t enjoy it much.

Next up on German TV: the Seahawks vs. the Ravens.

That pick-6 before halftime killed it for the Phins…

Gah. Those Eagles are strong, everyone knows that, but the drops by the Cowboys receivers don’t make it any easier.

Edit: also, all those 4th downs by both teams might give me a heart attack.

Well, that was an exciting game!

Way more exciting than I expected to be honest. The Cowboys played really well, could have gone the other way a few times.

Congrats Eagles!

Shout out for CJ Stroud, rookie QB for the Texans, who threw for 470yrds and 5 TDs!
Wish he was still a Buckeye as they could really use him this year…

The mental lapses killed what should’ve been a plattered win for Dallas.

Literally Philly Penalty’d them like 75 yards, 1 and Goal on the 6 with 26 seconds…

1 Player Had his kneed down before catching the ball which brought a touchdown back,
Dak, stepped out of bounds at the 3, which brought a score back
Dak was stopped short on 4th and goal at the 3 which cost them a Touchdown.

All I see on social media is whining about missed calls left and right, but no one wants to admit that the cowboys imploded again when it mattered, this was a division tying game for them, with philly having a bye coming up and a rough schedule, being 1/2 game back heading into that would have been great, now they are `2.5 games back and philly holds all the tie breakers.

all the people that were like “we gonna beat philly in week 9, we dem boyz, blah blah blah” are now like “penalties and refs costs us.” bro… Penalties gave you guys a 1st and 6 with 26 seconds left, and you went backwards 26 yards after that.

Yeah, penalties wasn’t the problem this time.

The Eagles were absolutely beatable but there was that 1% of quality missing. That should have been a win.

But hey, there’s enough season left. We will see how this develops.

By time they meet again in December, Philly will likely have their 3 Safeties and Carter back.

They should have easily been throwing balls to Lamb he was open most of the night, Philly had 2nd string playing on the wide outs and the zone.

Oh I definitely don’t expect the Cowboys to win against the Eagles. But if they win against most other teams that could be enough for the playoffs. That’s the maximum I see for this season if everyone stays healthy.

Today was the second Frankfurt game. Very defense-heavy.

Two of our German football experts (former Patriots O-liner Sebastian Vollmer and former Colts pass rusher Björn Werner) were in the house of course. It was fun to watch.

Right now German TV broadcasts Browns @ Ravens. Man, the Browns had a horrible start today.

And the Browns won it!

What a plot twist.

So… the Cowboys win :cowboy_hat_face:… but it doesn’t really count, does it?
To me this felt like beating up the skinny neighbor’s kid. The first Dallas drive choked in the red zone but after that it was became increasingly clear that the Giants were not able to really do anything. The game almost got boring.

But hey, at least I got to see some nice passes and runs.

They needed a romp win after last week to keep their “we dem boyz” delusion alive.

It sure was an ego boost for them, I guess.

Like many teams in many seasons they don’t quite suck, but they aren’t good enough to beat the best.

That’s a difficult situation to be in. It would actually be easier if they sucked hard in both offense and defense. Then they could basically tank and rebuild.
It isn’t Dak alone either, he doesn’t play that bad, and it is unlikely that if they now traded/drafted another QB it would solve their problems.

I don’t see a singular reason why they cannot beat the good teams. Most of their season they either had no chance or steamrolled their opponent, not much in between.

Of course a hater would just say that they are the Cowboys so they suck by default and that’s OK I guess.
But I won’t stop being a fan just because a team sucked for a mere 30 years. (Dolphins and Browns fans know what I mean. )

So yeah, the analysts are definitely scratching their heads, and so do I.

Brownies had a really good win yesterday!

The first few drives had me say “oh no, it is the old Browns style again” but then the game surprised me! Was really fun to watch.

No kidding, was like the reincarnation of the Kardiac Kids…
