I mean: the 49ers are basically the best team in the league, they kicked my Cowboys’ asses so hard they didn’t have to book plane tickets back to Texas, and now those same 49ers lost against the Browns? What the…?
The loss was well deserved for the 49ers. Many thought it was going to be easy against a backup QB. But CLE’s defense is no joke.
Purdy was off all day. Missed many throws. Play calling was questionable. Maybe the colder weather threw em off a bit. Contributing factors include CMC and Deebo leaving the game early in the second half. But no excuses as Cleveland didn’t have Watson and Chubb.
There was an insane amount of total penalties for both sides (I read 25 for like 200ish yards), some questionable, and a couple at the end that changed the game without a doubt backed by video evidence.
In the end Moody missed the go ahead FG. And what’s more sad is he did it in front of his family and friends as he is from the area.
Oh well. Just one game. Plenty of season to go.
…although the score suggests that the offense wasn’t really clicking again. Probably another win off the back of either a strong defense or a bad offense by the Chargers. Although I cannot imagine that Ekeler, Allan, Herbert et al played that badly, so I am curious what the Dallas D did there.
Is it just me, or is it getting increasingly complicated, difficult, and in a lot of cases impossible to watch games regularly on a Sunday? We have the basic cable package here plus an antenna, and combined all the local broadcast network channels we can pick up are showing exactly one game today.
TV Guide says they’d be playing more, but we’re getting PBA bowling and NASCAR instead.
IMHO, the streaming services will buy up as much sports as possible to thwart cable cutters and broadcast TV customers. For instance, if there are 50 college bowl games, 46 of them will be on ESPN.
I am going through the results in the NFL app right now, some interesting ones this week.
(German TV broadcasted two games but I didn’t find the time to watch them.)
The Dolphins failed to give the Eagles that second loss that the Cowboys fans would have liked to see.
Gotta give it to the Eagles, they are a tough team!
The Lions… what happened there?
The Bears offense apparently showed up this week.
I didn’t expect the Patriots to beat the Bills.
The Browns won against the Colts.
…and the Cardinals still haven’t beat anyone… except the Cowboys for some reason.
Yeah…I really need to get the home network things done, put my own router in running through a VPN, and once again hoist the Jolly Roger, early 00s style. I can’t justify a $200 cable bill AND pay for all the streaming services just to watch maybe one or two teams maybe once a week, at most.
The NFL pricing for Sunday Ticket is ridiculous, but it’s the only viable option for out of market games. With that said, we got it so I could watch the 49ers deep in Texas territory. Its been great having the ability to not only watch the games at home, but also when I work the occasional weekend and find myself in a hotel.
MLB and NBA season passes have better prices (and many more games!) but perhaps demand is less. And those services allow you to pick a season pass to watch just your team for a reduced rate. NFL Sunday Ticket sales would takeoff if they had a team only option.
Yeah there was definitely a bit of luck involved, especially in that last win. But hey, that’s part of the game. They are so good that they can turn the ball over twice and still win.
No Cowboys game on German TV today but I found a halfway usable stream.
Nice game, unexpectedly so tbh. I am especially surprised about the offense. Even some deep passes with good accuracy. Seems they worked on that during the bye week.
Next week against the Eagles that probably won’t be as easy. But we will see.
