Sadly I couldn’t watch the second half last night.
I was pretty surprised about the result when I checked the NFL app this morning.
Sad for the Lions but it seems that the 49ers really had some fighting spirit in them. Congrats!

Honestly I can’t be too critical of Campbell’s decisions. It’s what got the Lions in the NFC championship game. You go with what has been successful. It was the ticket to the Super Bowl and he was going for the jugular. And based on the fact that the 9ers defense was not stopping the Lions on 3rd down conversions (in these cases 4th down conversions), they (Campbell’s decisions) were reasonable risks… but eventually the odds go against you and the other team will figure you out.
I’d imagine Shanahan’s talk to his team at half time went something like this

I have been avoiding this thread for the past couple of days (I’m usually just a lurker anyway) but we watched the Lions game last night.
The Mrs was getting quite excited at half time, but I said ‘this game aint over yet, I’ll bet we see a very different 49ers come back out’.
I just didn’t expect to see a very different Lions as well. Sure there was some bad luck go their way (e.g. a completed pass only a few yards from the end zone off the helemet of the defence). But still…
Anyway, congrats to SF on the win. Not sure who I will be ‘rooting’ for in the Superbowl?

Always good to see the underdogs rise to stardom. Sometimes the scouts get it wrong, WAY wrong.
For fun… So we all hear about “The NFL is rigged” conspiracy theories. Here are the 2 possible story lines:
