Excellent evaluation of the Husky Beach.

you can install Avitab plugin, and pull it up in VR. it shows FPS.

I got higher FPS “readings” too in Vulkan. But in some cases, somehow it feels like micro stutter. While in 11.41, sometimes it feels smoother even lower FPS. Probably it’s just me…

Thanks for that! I’m diving deeper today.

Ready for a little island hopping??

I just added a couple of aircraft to my XP hangar that I think will be useful with AH2…

The Aero Commander 500S Shrike

And the Shrike’s big brother, the Turbo Commander.

The Do228 will have to wait for another time.

Looking sharp Mr. PaulRix. Although the Do228 is one of my favorites, I can definitely appreciate the fine lines of the Aero and Turbo Commander. Congrats.

Well, the sale isn’t over yet… and you know what I am like. But today I am saying I won’t be buying the Do228.

Speaking, belatedly, of the Do228. Do any of you remember an airline called Suckling Airways? (Please don’t wiki and then c/p the wiki…that takes away the fun.) In '97 my boss and I flew on them from Amsterdam to Cambridge. Their flight attendants had a height restriction of 5’3". That actually is pretty common in the airline world. But in Suckling’s case this was the MAX height. They did not want girls (always girls) stooped over as they worked the little cabin. (I know this because it was explained in cheeky detail on the safety card. The F/As (2 of them!) on our flight were beautiful. Other details: The service was all chinaware with silver utensils even though no flights on their route of 3 city pairs exceeded 45 minutes. The airline was founded by a guy surnamed “Suckling” The airline logo was a sow with big, saggy teats being suckled by a drift* of piglets.

*I had to look it up.

That’s a great story. I’ve never flown on a Do228…I’d love to take a trip on one…because it would undoubtedly mean I was going somewhere interesting…

I’m shopping for one, only one (spent my allowance for this month on a new Honeycomb Yoke), add-on for this MAC gig. Looking at this:

Any experience with this add-on in XP from anyone, or Alabeo’s XP implementation? I had their C207 in P3D and loved it.

Or any other recommendations of something in this ‘size’? Seems I’ve had XP for a while but (until about 18 months ago was only doing DCS) haven’t used it that much. And I un-installed P3D and doubt I’ll go back, esp. if AH2 comes out for XP.

Thanks,
JR

The Alabeo 207 for X-Plane is wonderful. Deep, throaty growl, and a beautiful cockpit. It has that interesting rearward squat where it always looks like it’s gonna fall on its tail. My only gripe about it (aesthetically) is that it doesn’t come with tundra tires - I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a 207 with tundra tires, so it may not even be an option. I haven’t flown it lately in VR…so if you give me a day or so, I’ll be happy to take a look at it.

Actually - in a little Google searching…I think this one has tundra tires…

Used to jump out of a 207 Turbine conversion in the 90’s… Ugliest aircraft I have ever seen.

Yeah…comparing to that photo it looks like the tires might be the same size…so maybe the stock tires are about the same size as tundra tires…

Thanks for that.
I thought the P3D version had a model with Tundra Tires? Been a while so not positive.

Thinks I’m gonna get it (wonder if I’d get a discount for owning the P3D one).

C207 was the first “Perfectly Good Airplane” I jumped out of! Kind of a funny story with that first go.

You are spot on actually…! I just fired it up in X-Plane and it has a check box for Bush Version…!

Cool. Any issues in VR, with 11.5+?

You know…I think my version is the X-Plane 10 version and not the X-Plane 11 version. That said, it works fine in 2D…I’ll give VR a whirl a bit later. I noticed on the product page that the XP11 version now supports the RealityXP GTN 750 mod…which would be a nice feature to have in it.

That story oughta go in the ‘so there I was’ thread.
