That faux-wood prop is amazing. Who would (ahem) have thought of that?
Who did the skin? And the “Max” hangar facade?
Monoblau did the original TalAir repaint - I took it into the paint shop and did some touch up on it… ![]()
As for the MAX hanger/factory - that is the Aerosoft Pullman airport, and I went in and found the hangar object skin and just modified it for my own purposes…
I wonder if it has a damage model…

Hey, I just throw on what you supply me, whether it works or not is more of a… philosophical discussion at this stage? ![]()
I don’t know of any turboprops with wooden blades, these days it surely is all carbon and aluminium?
Third shift churned out the big boy…the Fokker 50 is ready for action! I don’t know if there are enough…uh…shrimp boats in Idaho (I know right?) to carry all that delicious seafood to uh…Seattle (I know right??)…
Transferring to the VA…
As a dutchy I am quite impartial to the Fokkers. I work right next to where the old factory used to be!
I always wanted to fly the F-28/F-100. It is one of the funkiest jet airliners ever made. And reputed to be a joy to fly.
Apparently the aerodynamic design of the wing was outstanding and quite critical when it came to manufacturing. Though I don’t know much about it.
There was a program to revive it a while back, the Rekkof company.
Interesting find today - you can’t have AI fly an aircraft that is booked out from the VA. Apparently you can only put AI on aircraft you own. Not a big problem, but it might require me to build Destiny her own Fokker 50 or something down the road. For that reason, I’ll have to keep the Cessna 207 in my personal inventory because I need something for Destiny to fly on recon “parts” missions. Once she identifies the part, I can fly out and retrieve it in the Fokker.
I need to do some research on bigger planes too (Boeing 727/757) and see how much their parts weigh since the Fokker may not be able to carry bigger parts.
EDIT - Looks like something like a Boeing 727 fuselage would weigh around 23,000 lbs. in Air Hauler. Wings about 17,500…
This is probably a bit overdue - went ahead and added 17,500 gallons of fuel storage capacity at Pullman. This is useful for offloading fuel when you would rather take more cargo, and is particularly useful for after checkrides because I think the checkride loadout defaults the aircraft to 100% fuel. If you don’t have a place to store offloaded fuel, I think you are just basically pouring it out on the ground…a waste of money obviously.
I think you can also buy fuel as cargo at a cheaper location and ferry it back, though to be honest, being able to tell fuel prices in various locations is non-trivial… Some of these menus…
Updated today:
AirHauler 2 Update Details
- Network mode was not properly bypassing aircraft positioning, which resulted in the cold & dark flag being reset
- Resolved issue with Has Lights/Has ILS check boxes not working - will require the user to import default scenery again to resolve
- Removed “Cargo Flights Completed” from the VA Pilots info for now as it didn’t track anything
- Fixed an issue with a blank City value from the default scenery
- You can now batch add ICAO codes to exclude from a text file (*.txt), put ICAOs on individual lines
- Fixed an issue where you couldn’t disable an airport if the ICAO code is longer than 4 letters
- Added +/- buttons to Stock and Parts finder map
- You no longer loose the cash if you don’t have permission to donate to a VA
- Need the ability to remove all imported scenery, and reset to default effectively
- Added the ability to include/exclude heliports to the scenery import
- Fixed the “Incorrect Location” issue when flying a pax sector yourself and the aircraft was not at that airport
- “Crew Required” renamed to pilots required to avoid confusion on Pax Sector list
- Pax Sector grid now selects first aircraft rather than “All” to reduce load times for large schedules
- Pax sector map now defaults to first entry in list
- The Ledger has been split out from from Company Finance to better investigate performance issues on some systems
- Supply missions no longer show the “To ICAO” on the grid to avoid confusion
- Fixed an issue where pax flights would continually be processed incorrectly so the company was paid multiple times for the same sector
- Fixed an issue where a newly created pax sector would fly (within 48 hours of creation) when it shouldn’t have
- Fuel type should be correctly determined for aircraft when importing in XP, and existing aircraft updated
- Fixed issue where 1% of cargo would be lost when loading/unloading onto an aircraft with insufficient space available
Anyone come across this issue?
Went to repair my plane (shhh), but it pops up a window saying it can’t be found in the management database and to re-import it. Re-importing the .acf doesn’t change anything.
I have not seen that. Hmm… Here is a thread that maybe is similar to your problem? Doesn’t look like an ideal solution though because you lose money big time…
Your searching is better than mine.
Thanks, once I get some cash I’ll have to do that switch. Exact same plane ![]()
lol I also need to fix the fuel consumption for this plane when AH2 imports it next time. It’s off quite a bit.
I’m matching the performance tables my last few flights and getting the low fuel warning every time. I have 80nm to go and it flicked on. We’ll see what happens lol.
edit: omggggggggggggggggg just wasted 2hrs flying this route. Swapped over to AH2 and the load x-plane dialogue is still up. nooooooooooooooooooo. I am so not happy lol.
I feel your pain…done that before… ![]()
Twice in 2 days I have crashed the DC-3 because of the insipid X-Plane mouse-control feature. I mean, really? Who uses that? I just want to move the window in 2D so that I can see the GNS and boom! Over we roll and game over. How is this AH2’s fault you may ask? It is totally not. It is not the app’s fault that I play in VR and sometimes make the decision to fly long flights in 2D. But it is the app’s fault that once this mistake is made, it is irreversible and extremely expensive–not to mention a time-sink. Lately I have found this and other sim experiences to be stressful, cumbersome, grindy and joyless.
My xbox beckons.
One of the things I hate most about x plane is I’ve never found a way to free look and turn clickable cockpit on and off like i can In DCS. It drives me utterly insane. I have been spoiled with dcs
LR and honestly ED as well (albeit in different ways) do not understand how some of us play. These teams have a workflow that’s served them for 20+ years and they are too old to imagine the myriad of ways players get satisfaction from the game. As I get older myself, I get it. And I think that makes me more frustrated when it bites me.
