Here’s I’ll post some of the mugs I love to drink coffee from.
This, as long as I will not own the Mudspike one.
As a side note, I bought all of these personally.
current favorite coffee holder
My second favorite mug is at the bottom of this photo from ten years ago - my Snow Peak titanium mug. If I’m using that - you can bet I’m someplace cool…
My other favorite was given to me by my high school on graduation night. Hard to believe it has survived all the moves all over the country, packing, and a tenuous life on my desk. Wow…1989…
Today I got this at work…
Odd, upload of pics is not working?
I decided to order Kai his own camp mug…(he loves the color blue)…I’ll get it engraved with something deep and meaningful…
“Don’t fall off the mountain…”
or
“Make sure all my ashes are rinsed out before you drink another cup of cocoa…”
My dad’s squadron mug when he was the patch wearer and ops officer of the 335th. Most of them had their call signs on the other side, which at the 335th was some sort of humorous nod to Native American names. Like Buffalo Chips. Dad’s was Windy Willow, I think because he was tall and talked a lot Anyway, this one just has his first name. For years after I inherited it, I didn’t drink out of it, wanting to keep it in original condition. But then knowing my dad, he would think that as silly. So, it gets used every now and then, but never sees the dishwasher.
So not navy-nuking it anymore, what do you do currently? Obviously something engineer-y
Been out since 2009, then went back to school right after, because of the state of the economy. Finished my electrical engineering degree in 2014 from North Carolina State University, and I work in building design and consulting right now. Long term goal is to get back into renewable energy (my area of concentration), but we’re all kinda waiting to see if that’ll be a thing here still in the next few years…
Ah, that’s indeed a bit of a gamble these days. Oh well, surely the world still needs it? Or are you not really up for moving abroad?
Not gonna lie, one of my best friends and I have talked about it - one of my former division officers does utility work around the Caribbean, for example - but there are other factors we’re still considering.
