Hey @DaCookie - welcome to Mudspike!!
Lithuania… I wonder if these guys are or were involved in the old Virpil production line?

No, I have not.
Cool!
Hi, @DaCookie and welcome to Mudspike!
While the stick grip certainly is inspired by the real deal, it differs in shape.
Still, kudos to anyone who make Viggen related stuff!
Thank you. Yeah, I agree that it’s good seeing manufacturers produce viggen stuff. you still have a much better one I look forward to the finished product.
Watch out with that CF infused stuff, it’s pretty much asbestos for the 3D printer. They pretty much just grind up carbon fibre and create extremely tiny needles in the PLA, these spread around as you handle it and penetrate your skin.
As you can see, there’s no continuous strands in there as you can see.
Ugh! That’s scary!
Can’t say I’ve noticed any significant advantage either…
It is! Hadn’t realized how they created it before, it’s sort of stupid as well, you are just dumping… waste in the material that doesn’t have any of the inherit properties it usually has, CF get’s it strength for being a continuous strand with a composit material…
Well, yeah, but short strands will work if they are long enough to overlap, but this looks like fill, as you said.
Anyway, I’ve found that the best results are PLA with 100% fill. Stiff, solid and hard… No, @komemiute! Don’t even think about it!
It becomes a bit stiffer with the CF fill IIRC, at the cost of strength.
Yeah as long as they are placed in something like a weave that you often seen with CF, but this is just cut up garbage put in PLA for the cool factor.
@aniron stiffer at the cost of strength just sounds like it becomes more brittle due to spreading effectively garbage/imperfections in your material.
@Troll I’ve been experimenting with strength and it seems like the amount of walls and wall overlap is a huge factor in strength vs infill, there’s a few different kinds of infill that can help as well.
I simply use 100% infill to get maximum strength and weight.
100% makes for some chonky parts for sure!
I’ve had very good results with ABS, which you might consider. It seems to make stronger parts than PLA or PLA+, and doesn’t melt or warp in the sun like those do.
Hahahaha, ok ok I know.
So, about those gloves…
Oooh my!
Vad kostar ett par handskar?
