Thanks guys! Appreciate it!
Today I fired up my SimBox for the first time since March… I’ve been spending all my allotted play time on getting the Stick grip ready, so the SimBox has been tucked away. But today I finally had to test the electronics…

And…?

Was it awesome?

That looks like it came straight out of the aircraft! :star_struck:

Actually it looks better than that - no pilot boot marks on it

In short, yes! :sunglasses:
The main feature of this stick, besides being a true copy of the original, is the safety catch. It felt really good flippin’ the safety off and squeeze the trigger. Got a video of it, but since I deleted my youtube account I need to find another way of posting it…

Very true! The original sticks, I have seen, have been pretty beat up. This was also the reason why I didn’t just want to use the 3D scan to make the stick, but instead used it as a base to rebuild the stick in 3D.

It is just that your post, particularly the photo, immediately invoked a ‘bones of the past’ vibe…

I have always thought of that quote as a variation of 'he who controls the past (or how it is perceived) controls the future.

I thought I would flip it and give it another, more positive, meaning. Along the lines of ‘good fortune comes to those who persevere’. And because it is a quote from another awesome engineer, it just seemed apropos…

I haven’t ever been accused of being ‘deep’ before, so thank you
