Anyone get DATIS functioning? (solved)

EDIT: Solved by running a local SRS server and connecting to that for the mission with the SRS client.

I’ve done the install and connecting to a local (on my LAN) SRS server. I’ve changed to the ATIS freq assigned to the object name in the ME and see the correct freq in the UFC and in the SRS overlay. Trying Batumi at 131.5 as in the examples list. But not hearing ATIS. I noticed that it hasn’t been updated for a while.

Do you see DATIS as client in the SRS server app? There should be 2, your plane via SRS client and the DATIS script.
Is there a setting in SRS to allow external communication or a password?

No I didn’t. Where in DATIS do you configure the SRS server? Thanks regardless. I’ll troubleshoot from that perspective.

Looking at settings.json, maybe it expects the SRS server to be running on the same machine. The only server settings that I could find:

srsPort | The port of your locally running SRS server (default: 5002)

Thanks Ugene, that was it. Ran SRS server on the same machine and connected to 127.0.0.1 (localhost).

Moving the video to the appropriate topic. Next to try running SRS and DATIS in a dedicated server to see if it works for multiplayer. Also want to try multiple stations, to help plan approaches.

After further testing, I’m confirming that DATIS works on multiple stations of different types (airfields, carriers, weather stations) reporting simultaneously AND that it works in multiplayer. Well at least on a DCS dedicated server with SRS running on the same server. I spawned in at Batumi and listened to ATIS from Kolkhi, Kutaisi, and carrier info from the Stennis. I didn’t try it, but I’m guessing that you could apply distance and/or earth curvature settings on the SRS server to make it more realistic.

One interesting thing that happened. I departed Batumi and flew out to the Stennis. On route I checked in with mother which reported a case 3 and a BRC of 359. After a bolter and during my second approach, I noticed that DATIS carrier mode (carrier information broadcast similar to ATIS), which I had turned down somewhat on Com 2, reported a BRC of 259. I continued the approach, but as I broke out, I saw the problem. The Carrier had begun a turn right after my initial check in. So it was good to know that DATIS was dynamically updating.
