Damn it. Working until late on the 2nd. awwww poo
I’m a total noob and have zero idea wtf I’m doing, plus I can’t shoot in this game (I will try and practice before the 2nd using the campaign - or something else if someone has suggestions).
Suggest me a role I won’t mess up too badly. I dunno the difference between autorifleman and grenadier at this point, but I guess I could do one of those. I don’t think we want to rely on me to take out tanks… which is what I assume the AT dude is.
My slot reservation is temporary until I check with the wife to see if I’m even around at 12 EST on Saturday. I may not be. Will advise asap.
Quoth Eversmann in Black Hawk Down: “Just try and shoot in the same direction we are”.
A break down of the roles is thus:
Squad Leaders and Fire Team Leaders: Dudes with your standard M16, binoculars, a radio, some smoke grenades for concealment and marking, and tracer mags for coordinating fire.
Autorifleman: The “fire” in a fire team, a dude with an M249 Squad Automatic Weapon and 1000 rounds of ammo, and a pistol.
Rifleman (AT): Dude with a rifle, some frags, and an M136 anti-tank weapon.
Grenadier: Dude with an M16 with an underbarrel M203 grenade launcher. He carries HEDP grenades, flares, and smoke grenades as well as a full rifleman’s load of 5.56.
Machinegunner: Dude with an M60 and 300 rounds of ammunition.
Asst. MG: Dude with a rifle, and 700 rounds of ammo for the MG gunner
ATGM Gunner: Dude with a rifle and a M47 Dragon ATGM.
Asst. ATGM Gunner: Dude with a rifle and a single reload for the Gunner.
Sign me up for a grenadier slot. I think I can manage to keep those pointed away from our own troops
I’ll be Squad Leader for First Squad. Got extensive experience in getting soldiers lost on the battlefield and moving to the wrong locations.
sign me up for platoon leader, with Tyco as my enforcer we will wrangle this chickenshit outfit into something the Corp would be proud of… Or something to that effect
Semper Pie!??
Is this fiasco planning on running after about midnight utc on the 2nd or maybe sometime again on third. If so, then i would happily take an at slot.
The way i see it, anything with an explosion radius helps my chances of hitting something
Put me in as AT with absolutely no experience. I will do a crash course and try to learn to not kill myself
+1. Anybody have any good suggestions for missions/ scenarios to try out to get a bit of experience under the belt?
I’m not sure yet if I’ll be able to make it- 1300 EDT on a Saturday is usually a very bad time when it comes to Honey-Do’s.
@Navynuke99 @Rhinosaurus, Arma has some shooting challenges and short preview missions included in the base game. These will definitely get you more comfortable with shooting in arma. The short tutorial campaign is also good too.
Thank K’s for the replies guys. Unfortunately I’ve been informed I’m heading g out of town that weekend so I won’t be able to participate after all.
Appreciate the help everyone provided though.
So it would be like 3AM your time. Which sucks. I am however totes down to either A) Run it again if there’s interest, or B) Run other, smaller missions at different times.
I am in the uk, so utc is not so bad. Reckon i will get home about midnight ish uk time. Anyhow, i will pop on teamspeak and see who’s around.
Sorry, Beach. I already gave you the Press Corp slot. Just bring along some bandaids and neosporin with your telephoto.
All requests updated! Keep 'em coming!
Update Harder, amigo.
Dont be afraid to sign up for a fire team leader people! If you have no experience, no problem. Our goal here is for everyone to have fun… and besides Klar and I will be making all your decisions for you
