Pretty cool animation showing NASA’s plans for the near future. The plan is to land astronauts on the South Pole of the Moon by 2024.
They are going to need some good sledge dogs!
On a more seriousness note…so why do they have to build a big (expensive) booster to get them to the moon? Yeah, that’s the way Apollo did it but they didn’t have an ISS - so why not just send up the booster to get them to the moon (and its fuel which is the real weight issue) in increments. Same for the CM and SM parts…slap them all together in orbit. Send up the people going to the moon at their leisure and then when they are all ready, “light the candle” from orbit.
