I was flying the Hornet all of last week. After traps and nav, I decided to try some Mavericks. I tried both TGPs and I prefer the newest one. However the HOTAS commands seem a bit off. I will try to explain. I get the TGP as SOI. Diamond…Check. I can control the TGP. But when I press the Raid/Flir FOV button, the MAV page zooms in and out, not the TGP. Seems like no matter what I do, I cant get this to work. The Antennae Up/Dn controls the TGP zoom and the SCS moved towards the TGP screen changes the Area/Point track… But cant get that darn FOV to work.
IIRC this is how the real atflir behaves when the Mav screen is open. Switching to another page on the MFD will enable the zoom again

I’ve actually got an interest in the Hornet via the Super Hornet mod, and well… I got a lot to learn and account for with it now. But I figured out how to use the ATFLIR a little bit, so that was nice to get into it.
Good stuff. Ill try turning off the Mav screen. More F/A Hornetting tonight
And just like that, one easy tip and im a Maverick Beast. Thank you. Turned off Mav screen and everything worked. Now i gotta develop the muscle memory and its going to be good hunting

I recommend learning the LMAVs as well. Much easier workflow in my opinion, and while you lose the true fire-and-forget capability, you gain a higher degree of accuracy and lesser chance of the thing locking on to bushes and light poles instead of your target.
