Yes. It was introduced to try and deal with exactly what you guys were talking about - having a pitcher throw for one batter then changing him out for another. This was sometimes happenijg to the point where you’d have 3 pitchers for 3 outs (rare but ya). The infamous LOOGY is basically no more. Lefty one out guy.
