sort of, you can buy IL-2 Sturmovik, 1999 version and then upgrade to the 2007 1946 version and have all those maps available to you at DX9 versions…check steam out it still has IL-2 Sturmovik 1946, on sale. just the graphics are dated.
you can go to YouTube and watch videos of the older version of IL-2 Sturmovik.
in the latest release of 777Studious and 1CGames, the IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad; and Moscow maps, as well as 3 others (Velikie Luki, Lapino, Novosokoliniki) , are available on the same game. if you want to fly on those, just go to Quick mission builder, look at your top right corner of monitor and there a pull down for those other maps and they’re seasons.
This edition contains two additional Collector Planes – the legendary Spitfire Mk.VВ (Lend-Lease version imported from Britain) and the rugged German Hs-129 B-2 ground attack airplane. These two aircraft bring the total amount of included aircraft to ten in the Premium Edition.
I really dont know if this will be trend for future, but it works this way at least now with BOS and BOM maps (and there are more then two of them as mentioned already)
Finally! I’ve finished a Kuban Career without dying or getting gulaged. Overall I have found the experience of the new Career mode pretty satisfying. The feel is still that of strung together missions and definitely not that of a dynamic environment where Eric was just a cog in a failed act of aggression. But despite the scripted vibe it is still fun enough to keep coming back. And right now, until ED figures out how to do a DC, the IL2 Career is still the only single player experience worth my time in any air combat sim. Next…Ju87!
Falcon BMS is a FAAAAR better single player experience. And getting through a campaign where you fly at least once per campaign day is, unlike the IL2 career, a real accomplishment. But…you know…VR.
Yeah, the lack of VR is really the only downside for me. It will be great to have the Viper in DCS (VR), but there are a lot of other things which will be lacking initially.
Ask @near_blind about his Discord. They fly on there every now and again, and have been patient enough to let me start getting my legs under me, when somebody isn’t colliding with me while I’m taxiing.
What Troll said. Only a few planes have been released so far.
The P-51, P-38, an AI B-25, and the Rheinland map are mentioned in the most recent update and are supposed to be released with the next update, said to be before the end of September. Considering they like to release updates on Friday and tomorrow is the last Friday of the month it could be as early as tomorrow???
