Dunno, I got into WASD with Duke3D too.
I don’t know exactly when I started using WASD but I think it was with Jedi Knight, in 1997 or 1998.
The Joystick never was in the way because I was a joystick in the lap flyer most of the years and now I fly F16 sidestick style.
That might change if I ever get a TM Warthog though since that stick is too large and too heavy to use it efficiently as a sidestick.
The inverted mouse also was my thing until then. That one was far more easily changed than I thought though. After a week or so it felt natural.
Wait, people DON’T invert the mouse Y axis? That’s just…weird.
