Belsimtek F-4E Phantom II

F-16C Module would fit into the Theatres we already have better than the F-4E would.

You might have to explain that one because outside of a sandbox you have this:

Persian Gulf
Iran = F-4E (1970s to present)
Oman = F-16CD Block 50 (from 2005)
UAE = F-16EF Block 60

Nevada
F-16C Block 50 and F-4E in USAF and NATO service since late 1970s

Normandy 1944 - um no

Georgia - нет (left in for comedy value)
Turkey = F-16CD Block 30/40/50 & F-4E

Will also say the Omani & Turkey Block 50 is unlikely to be the same as the USAF CCIP.

I beg to differ. We obviously need that F-16 to actually be an Eurofighter!

Maybe someone’s sitting on a Straits of Singapore map we don’t know about :thinking:

In order to get this back on track, here are some of the beauties we are not going to see for a long time :frowning:

86th Tactical Fighter Wing, Ramstein AB, Germany. A major strike component of the USAFE at the forefront of the Cold War (that can apparently also look after itself in air combat). Here in wraparound SEA camo.

52nd Tactical Fighter Wing, Spangdahlem AB, Germany. NATO’s only dedicated Wild Weasel unit in Europe.

4th Tactical Fighter Wing, Seymour Johnson AFB, North Carolina. Part of the Rapid Deployment Force for commitment to anywhere around the world on short notice.

57th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, Keflavik NAS, Iceland. Responsible for the defense if Iceland with frequent encounters with Soviet aircraft.

Again the 57th FIS from Keflavik NAS, Iceland. This time in unique NORAD interceptor color scheme.

21st Tactical Fighter Wing, Elmendorf AFB, Alaska. Classic SEA camo. Another unit with frequent Soviet encounters.

57th Fighter Weapons Wing, Nellis AFB, Nevada. In classic SEA camo.

Another 57 FWW from Nellis AFB, this time in Euro1 camo.

cause everyone wants to be a Viper pilot

Someone saying they want to be a Dart pilot is like hearing someone say Adam Levine is their favorite artist, they prefer the Olive Garden, they swear by Apple, and their go to beer is Bud Light. It betrays a certain lack of taste, an unwillingness to seek out the finer things in life, an acceptance of the bland mundaneness of the average. It’s not necessarily wrong, but it is choosing to settle when you don’t need to.

Great article though, highly recommend.

Can we please have this as a theater? Bomber intercepts would be a lot of fun.

No, that’d make way too much sense.

However given the popularity of the F-16C, and the assets available in DCS currently. Here at Salty Studios we are proud to offer you what we feel will be the definitive F-16C Theater: Venezuela. Soon you will be able to recreate the quintessential South American F-16A wartime experience by shooting down a bunch of prop planes in cahoots with Coup forces*!

*prop planes, F-16A, coup forces, not included

What? DCS is getting a bunch of prop planes. Some of them aren’t even armed!

Edwards Air Force Base called - they’d like their salt back in the Rogers Dry Lake, please. :wink:
