To be fair you were driving around on the ground for at least a full minute with the brakes held firmly on by me as we couldn’t hear each other…you did well to get as far as you did mate
I guess a short personal wrap up might be in order, before I go Hipstering in earnest.
My experience with the Yak was, it’s a great little bird that you warm up to as you go.
It took a bit of power of will at first to stick to doing Yak stuff when firing up DCS - it doesn’t have the instant gratification of lightning the cans and blowing stuff up as the jets do - but once I managed the mindset change, it was great.
I didn’t manage to join any of the MP sessions, which is a shame as I imagine formation work to be fantastic with friends in the Yak.
System-wise it only takes a couple of nights (if that) to memorise the startup so most of my time was spent in the air, which is quite nice.
The manual goes into plenty of detail around aerobatics, which I didn’t get to do as much as I’d have liked due to limited time - so there’s definitely ‘value’ left to discover in the module after a month of sporadic flying.
The cockpit instruments are quite comprehensive, which is cool - and I love the quirky air system. As noted in the thread, the module needs some finishing work, which will hopefully get done this year.
All in all, I feel like doing all my Feb flying in the Yak gave me a ‘type rating’ for the bird, which is what I hoped: I can now hop in it and go for a casual flight without the manual. There’s also a sense of achievement in having stuck with a single module for the month as planned. Good stuff.
I did not stick with only this module lol, but I did take it out of the hangar and learned how to operate it. And how not to. heh. It’s a fun plane, and especially for multiplayer, its a great ride.
Now we move on to the Hip, yeh? Let’s hope they hack multicrew back in in time for our hollo pointe shenanigans. I want to make @Victork2 change his underwear through sheer stick 'n rudder skill

If I were him, I would stop at the nearest store and grab a pack of adult diapers. Save the hassle of extra laundry.
