Sad news.
You guys ever seen ‘Spartan’? He was great, feel like that movie is underrated - or maybe overlooked is a better word.
Not the greatest ever, but a solid action movie that really moves you along from scene to scene. Lots of fun dialog too (Mamet).

That was the first Val movie I saw in the theater. Saw it with my summer camp group in 1985.

“Tombstone”, “Heat” and “The Doors” are his greatest three acting performances in my opinion.
