Board Games

My eldest son introduced us to Betrayal at House on the Hill and it has become a family favorite. Sadly, everyone is so busy we rarely find time to get together and play. It’s a great game for those tired of Monopoly and other mainstream board games. Available at Amazon.com and various retailers. :sunglasses:

Ah, I didn’t know we had a dedicated Board Games thread, thanks @NEVO !

Everdell is cute but also quite a lot, Welcome to Everdell looks interesting!

The wife and I have been playing a LOT of Sky Team this week, as I shared in the big thread.

Some more thoughts.

It’s fun to manage a “cockpit” together and to strategize about which dice to place first. Extending flaps first will slow us down, but the sooner I place my throttle die, the sooner my pilot knows how low her throttle die needs to be. (Throttle dice are added and compared to drag (gear and flaps setting) to determine speed when the second throttle die is placed.

The approaches are amazing and the gameplay matches real world phenomena nicely! See below for Paro.

The real approach:

The horizontal approach path in-game: (red crosses means if you have that bank angle while flying through there, you crash)

The same left, left, sharp right turn.

I love this game. The harder approaches are very unforgiving though. One mistake and a little bit of bad luck on the rolls and you’ll fall too far behind to ever catch up.

Karak is fun and Dungeon! is another great adventure lite style game for playing with kids and adults both.

My approaches also feel like rolling dice
