Hey Mudspike,
Brad here — longtime lurker, occasional poster. I’ve been flying DCS with a WinWing Orion 2 setup for about a year now and finally got my F-16C profiles tuned to where I want them.
The Problem:
DCS updates love to either reset HOTAS bindings or break compatibility with custom profiles. I got tired of manually copying .lua files and hoping I grabbed the right ones.
What I Built:
-
F-16C HOTAS Profiles for WinWing Orion 2 (grip + throttle)
- Pre-tuned axis curves and deadzones
- Afterburner detent properly calibrated
- CMS slew responsive without being twitchy
- Shaker kit integration for missiles/warnings
- Free download: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3348759/
-
HOTAS Backup & Restore Tool (works with any HOTAS, not just WinWing)
- One-click backup of all your DCS input profiles
- Restore after updates or fresh installs
- Saves to timestamped folders so you can roll back if needed
- $5 on Gumroad: DCS HOTAS Input Backup & Restore Tool - Save Your Profiles Forever
-
Bundle Deal — Get the backup tool + pro F-16 profiles (advanced curves) for $8 instead of $10:
DCS WinWing Orion 2 F-16 Profiles + HOTAS Backup Tool Bundle - Save 25%
Setup:
DCS OpenBeta 2.9.8, WinWing FW 1.16.86, Windows 11. I’m an aerospace engineering manager by day, simmer by night, so I probably overthought the curves more than necessary.
If anyone tries them out, I’d appreciate feedback — especially if you’re running different firmware or encountering issues.
Fly safe,
Brad
