I’ve been absent lately, partly due to a busy life and partly due to not having a space for my simming…at the house, and, perhaps also in my head. It feels like I’m carrying a couple of weird years’ worth of weariness on my shoulders - and I think a lot of folks are like that at the moment. I wonder if some of the departures and absences are caused by similar reasons to mine. It just seems that people don’t have a lot left in the tank, which might reduce social engagement.
I didn’t know that MS wasn’t on an even keel - I knew much of the administration and moderation was carried by only a handful of selfless people but didn’t quite realise the state things were.
I am really thankful for @Troll , @fearlessfrog and @Fridge for their time and efforts. This corner of the internet is worth preserving.
Great to see You Back Brother 
It’s been a strange few years and a lot of people are feeling understandably frazzled. I think everyone is experiencing it to some extent and we all handle it in our own way.
For me, I think not visiting and interacting on Mudspike with my friends (I consider you all my friends) would be more stressful than stepping away tbh, although that wasn’t the case over at the ‘other place’ from where a lot of us old timers migrated from.
Personally, I’m glad the forums are still there. Even if I don’t interact with people as much as I once did, I still feel this place is one tightly knit family.
We were all scarred by the pandemic. Some were terrified for the health of their loved ones and themselves. Some feared for their careers. Others thought the whole thing was a hoax. Wherever you sat, you saw a world turned upside down. Of course it’s going to mess with your mind with lasting consequences.
Its been a very unprecedented and weird few years. Like Eric said, its bound to have a profound effect on a few of us and a tangible change in life for nearly all of us.
We for the most part are a very close community that looks out for each other and I believe, genuinely care about the lives and well-being of everyone who visits here.
Thats a very rare thing. Especially with different parts of the world and timezones and political views all mashed together. Its pretty cool on the whole. I cherish Mudspike.
