We came to an agreement. Anything he can reach from the floor, he can pull down overnight and I rehang them the next day.
It’s working so far. But I did hide the stepladder that he’s sitting on in the photo… and he did pull one of the lower branches off before we hung the baubles

Was gone from home most of the day today… returned to find the Kat had done enough exploring to dislodge one ornament, but no real damage…

So far our tree has not suffered a cat-astophy…
It is set up next to the dining room fireplace for two reasons:
Summer here remember 
One kitty learnt the hard way not to jump onto the fireplace (no permanent damage, but a ‘permanent’ lesson learnt) and the other is a bit old for those types of shenanigans these days.
But Santa was kind and bought them a new tower for Christmas:
They are still playing with the box it came in…
