Changing CPU from Intel to AMD

Since purchasing my PC last year, I have had constant heat issues. I blame myself for not researching the processor more thoroughly before purchase, but hey ho, you live and learn. It is a i9 14900KS.

How difficult would it be for me change over to an AMD processor? Are we just talking CPU and motherboard or is it more involved than that? I guess I could try a completely different cooling solution. Right now I have a 360mm AIO liquid cooler, but I am sure it isn’t the best out there.

Graphics card and RAM will swap straight over, Power supply should be OK… Cooling I will leave to the experts.

What else is there other than that these days (separate sound and network cards are a thing of the past)?

Might be worth bumping up to a 420mm or dropping down to an I7 if you dont need the cpu power.

If you are overclcoked you are probably drawing some good wattage.

As for a switch, cpu and motherboard and cleanse the hardrive of any intel stuff

The PC is just used for simming and gaming, so an i7 would probably not hurt performance too much. I’m guessing that would be a simple CPU swap.

Yep an i7 14700ks would drop right in.

I have personally never used anything higher than an i7. Always seemed like over kill to me
