Civil Aviation Ministry of Information thread

Don’t get me wrong. I was a fan. And I was even a fan of the writing. But back in the day when you’d tell people that, they would respond with the wry smile suggesting “BS!”. T&A are awesome. But the mysogyny of bunnies and young females as playthings for old men is probably best left to the past.

I think Larry Flynt taught me more anatomy than when I sneaked down whatever library aisle in the Dewey Decimal system that held that Nat Geo boobie books. It was desperate times at the library.

Sorry but I have to remind everyone the growing up moment we all had.
In every country has a different name but essentially was the “Order-By-Mail catalogue of everything”.

Youknow the one.

There was all sort of stuff from kids toys to… clears throat nightgowns for moms and… uh… yeah.
Shoulder massage apparatus.
clears throat again

You knew you were growing up when the toys were not that attractive anymore and “attractive” started having another meaning.

A pretty nifty breakdown of how civil aviation has been affected by COVID, data about the event, and a look at the gradual recovery of different segments of the industry…

I always liked the look of these. If I had the wherewithal I would love to restore one, but I have neither the time, money, or skills to do it. It’s a pleasant daydream though

Over half your time is going to be spent trying to keep that aluminum polished, even if you keep it in a hangar.

Nice! A few of those beach shots are not too far from me - I recognised the Muriwai beach carpark turnaround:

And the Muriwai gannet colony:

That’s the beach - to the west from Auckland. There’s a popular skydiving airfield at Parakai, about 10 km north from Muriwai, I assume they took off from there. In case you want to recreate the scene in MSFS.

Definitely going to take a look at the area, thx!

Screenshots please when you get around to it! I’m still on the fence on MSFS but if it has my local area modelled well that would be a big deal…

Here you go @Bearhedge:sunglasses:

Auckland itself needs some work, as you can see in the last shot. There is some good freeware Auckland scenery available though…
