I’m reserving final judgements until I take time to play it in depth. Right now the reds and I are kicking some fallangist butt in HoI IV, so it’ll be a bit.
Ah my Hearts of Iron IV downloaded. I am officially in game-time bankruptcy.
Hi, I’ll add a toggle for vignette in tomorrow’s update
My first impressions. I like it!
It’s no study sim. For that I have my beloved BMS Viper, but this (alpha) feels/has the potential to be an up-to-date Third-Wire series. Which ain’t bad.
Having troubles mapping my x-55, but I’ll wait for the updates. All in all, not a bad $30 spent.
Dangit guys. After reading this thread all day, I had to jump on the bandwagon- and I won’t be able to fly it before this weekend, because I need both monitors to work from home every evening this week.
Hi @piper - good to see you! I’ve mapped it up on the X-55 today, what sort of things as I’d like to help if I can?
I could use the help FF. Mapping my POV doesn’t seem to work. Got your’s going?
btw, just getting feet wet with this. Have engine & flight controls mapped. Can’t take off
from carrier yet. Water look cool though:-)
Currently, just flying “dogfight” mission to see the sights before I get taken out.
I TrackIR, so I haven’t had to deal with that yet - I’ll give it a go and report back though.
For the Carrier take-off I sort of ignore the (small) manual and do it Royal Navy style :
-
Canopy shut
-
Brakes on
-
Nozzle 0 degrees
-
Throttle 100%
-
Flaps STVOL
-
Brakes off!
-
About 20ft from end of Carrier I put Nozzle to 40% to ‘viff’ up
-
Yank that nose up
-
Gear up
-
Flaps to Cruise
-
Miss that Frigate in-front (who put that there?) but give them a good scare.
Royal Navy style! LoL
Ya know, with about 5min in this, I hope he doesn’t go all x-box on us. This has potential.
If you’re doing a review, please show the hope toward the “way beyond” x-box crowd.
Cheers man!
