made it back to the bubble, Dropped off 270 mil worth of planetary data in HIP 90578 for the community goals.
Then dropped of 1 Bil in Exo data at Achenar. Not bad for a short trip out in the black.

So… I play Elite Dangerous from time to time, but I can’t even contemplate the newer versions that have essentially dropped VR…
Dropped VR?
Yes, my understanding is that the latest version, you can fly as usual in vr, but when you go on the ground-based missions or enter Starbases etc, the game switches to a flat screen view within the headset.

As long as you are in a ship or SRV it’s full VR 3D, only on foot it’s flat rendered in VR.
But it has been like that since the introduciotn of space legs.
And the version of the game that introduced space-legs is where I stopped. I refused to buy it without full VR.
I see your point- your opinion is valid of course.
I thought more or less the same- but to be fair when space legs released I didn’t quite had a VR system capable of handling the stations internals…
And beside that I pledged on the Kickstarter as to receive all DLCs free.

Honestly, considering the many alternative space games out there, the longevity of my interest in ED, and its continued residence on my hard-drive is directly attributable to VR.

If I had a montster PC and a Quest 3 I’d probably only play Elite Dangerous and No Man’s Sky both in VR.
And some DCS too… A-6 and Typhoon.

Just the one shot today, Sitting on the Trailblazer Echo, hoping she comes out of lockdown before this CG ends, Highly unlikely so I will probably travel to Jameson Memorial later and see what that’s like for the first time.

Used my cash from the CG to fund an Imperial Cutter,
Did a quick Bounty Hunt to dust the rust off my blowing ships up skill, wasn’t bad…
I give you Saren’s Folly, A cargo/mining ship. Currently set up with 720T of Cargo space. Handles like a dream, if that dream is to be a battleship captain!
