Just another day at the (Darth) mall, right?
Wow! I needed that. (If this turns our to be an AI fake I will be both impressed and very, very sad)
Unfortunately I am pretty sure it is AI generated.
At the end, around the 2:43 mark, the blue light sabre looks like it āclipsā through the other guys shoulder.
But the giveaway for me is that throughout, the people riding down the escalator randomly changes, i.e. one moment it is nearly full and the next a few seconds later almost empty and they arenāt paying any attention at all. Also, the number of people in the background just going about their business and seemingly oblivious to what is going on.
I though this is a genuine, pre-studied performance. Due to the setting, the perfect stage appearance and the cinematic camera, itās not as random as they try to make it look like. They all look very professional.
However, the whole sound recording is way too perfect for a mall. So itās maybe a studio audio recording with video cut to fit. Which is why thereās āglitchesā in the video.
It is the number of continuity āerrorsā that is bugging me.
If it is real, then it canāt have been done as a continuous one shot take. I have watched it a few times now and other than the escalator passengers there is also a strip of blue masking tape on the floor with the ācombatantsā that appears and then disappears between shots.
Maybe they staged this a few times and this is a compilation of performances?
I took this as both staged and meant to be seen as staged. Those little reaction bubbles above shocked witnesses I took to be meant to make the viewer dubious of the whole affair. We see the same Tic-toc garbage most people ingest daily and are ready to scoff. But once the choir kicks in the game is out and we just accept the awesomeness of it. That was my first reaction anyway. Maybe total bs. Funny that I, so cynical and resistant to all things influenced and viral, would be taken by a silly bit of AI pop.
Donāt get me wrong. Real or fake. Single take or edited footage. I also think it is awesome.
I want it to be real. But that is the problem these days. I see some awesome video posted and I am automatically thinking āis that AI generatedā. It is horrible and I hate it, but that is the first place my mind goes to these days with stuff like this⦠Not prove it is fake, but prove it is real.
People still go to shopping malls?
In France they do, apparently.
