So after the live coverage of NBC is done, is there a way to watch the NBC replay on Peacock - because I only see a way to replay the Eurosport replay that doesn’t have the NBC crew? Thus far I’ve been lucky and have only been an hour or two behind the live broadcast, so it is available in Peacock Premium, but once the broadcast is finished it disappears from the app (?)…
Not that I know of. I can watch NBC replays with YouTube TV, because I “record” all stages. Couldn’t you do that with a set top box?
BTW, IMO NBC was a little shameful how they didn’t make it clear that it would be on NBC Sports (not Gold), leading one to believe that you could only see it on Peacock. In my case, I have Peacock so that I can watch the Premier Lacrosse League. But otherwise, would have been a little torqued if I’d subbed just to watch the Tour.

Yeah…I was double checking today that I wasn’t still subscribed to the Cycling package on NBC SN - but it appears I am not…or at least the sub runs out in August and will not renew. But opening up NBC SN I can’t see a place to see replays necessarily…so I assume they are only Livestreaming the broadcast but no replays. Which is kind of dumb since the replays would have all the commercials in them too (ad revenue?). With me being out of flying work right now, it is working out OK since I get to the office a bit after 8AM and I’m able to hop on the Peacock app thingy and just run it back to the start of the morning. As long as the app stays open and running, it does not disappear at the end of the live broadcast. But if I pause it and it closes or hangs…then if the broadcast has ended, I can’t get back to it and instead have to open the Euro replay one. As usual, there is no ideal app, subscription, or full service that seems to meet all the needs. I guess it is planned to be that scattered to distribute the revenue to as many people as possible.

TdF Stage 4
At work this morning, I pulled up the live broadcast about the time Cav took 3rd in the intermediate sprint, first of the chasing group, which I assumed was no more than low hanging fruit for him and not an indication of his fitness. Keeping the broadcast in a small window in the upper right hand corner, I dove into email, spreadsheets, and our accounting app, not giving the Tour more than a random glance every now and then. I lowered the volume for two short face to face meetings with my brewer and packaging manager, before returning to the race, where it had progressed to about 10k to go.
I don’t have any data to back this up, but all things being equal (chase is interested, no hills or descents, break is cooperating) after 3 or 4 decades of following pro cycling, I have a theory that if a break or a solo rider has 10 minutes on the peloton at 10k remaining, he has a chance of winning the stage. Not guaranteed, but a chance. Less than 10 mins, no chance worth betting on.
So when Van Moer had only 1:05 at 10k, I thought that we were about 1:22 into the Ride of the Valkyries, and that Viking ladies would be soon singing, fat or otherwise. But either through temerity or the peloton’s indifference, he had shown all a middle finger until what 175 mtrs? Anyway, I had at one point, maximized the video feed, and was silently cheering that Van Moer would cheat the devil. Caught! But something else wonderful happened. Suddenly I heard Liggett and Roll yelling “CAVENDISH, CAVENDISH, CAVENDISH” and didn’t stop until he was over the line victorious. I realized that I had joined them yelling the Manx Missile’s name, as well as had begun to nod my head with each of his pedal strokes until the job was done. Maybe a tear had formed at the corner of my eyes, I know not why. I don’t even like the guy. Furthermore, I had stood and began walking around my office repeating his name. Then to my embarrassment, I looked up to hear my packaging manager, who would most definitely look comfortable in the horned dome of a Viking goddess, say in a her southern drawl, “What in the hail is going on in here?” I could only answer, “Cavendish”.

Great recounting. I was at work too and really thought the break was gonna make it. I was willing him on. The Peloton is like Agent Smith…inevitable… I was crushed when they caught him at a few hundred meters…but like you…I saw the Quickstep jersey and my jaw dropped…and for a brief second I thought he was going to collide with the break guy who was going backwards. And then…he did it. I jumped up from my desk and clapped. I was so happy for him…and I don’t really like him either. But it is always entertaining when he tells reporters their questions are crap. And he has always had an unabashed love for his teammates. The Wolfpack scores again.

Just incredible. Given where he was and the long term injury. He’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I really want to see him equal Merckx record, though I’m not sure I want to see him beat it.

I know it isn’t everyone’s thing…but man I love listening to The Move during the TDF. Good Cop Hincapie makes the show. One day I dream he will be driving down I-85 from Greenville to Charlotte to catch a flight and he will spot me on the I-85 service road grinding away and come sign my jersey. 
Of course, I realize he probably doesn’t drive to Charlotte because everyone is throwing their Jeezies at him instead of Lance…

Spent much of the day in the big chain ring. Two PRs for some segments today. I can tell my power output has increased over the past few months…I’m able to run a higher gear up a larger segment of the climbs on my route, which is resulting in faster times…and I’m recovering from the effort a bit faster (like - I don’t quite feel like I’m going to stroke out…haha…). The riding has left me in utter awe of the professionals and the watts they must be outputting. I still don’t have power meters on my bikes…I know they would give me some insights into performance, but I’m working up to a bike that might be worth having one on. The Revenio might be worth having it on…but the Willard 2 definitely not…

Pretty awesome. Another nail biter stage with those crosswinds. It is always enjoyable to watch when a squad goes to the front and just drills it… Deceuninck-Quickstep’s train is incredible. They delivered the green package right to the line. Awesome.

I can’t say I envy the riders today. Whilst Ventoux is on my list of climbs to do before I can no longer ride, doing it twice in a day as part of a 120 mile ride gives me nightmares.
It’s going to be an interesting day.
Completely agree keets. I climbed it in 2002, and the heat was merciless.
Edit: the hard part is when you get above the tree line and are baking in the sun. It has a a desert feel about it above the trees. At least they have a downhill finish.
