DCS 2.2 lighting flickering

So a youtube video of Kermit Weeks got me to fire up the P51 over Vegas. Noticed a weird lighting/flickering issue in the pit. Is there a setting that would cause this?

I have DS on, global illumination on, terrain shadows flat. Would the terrain shadows have anything to do with it? Its like a constant flickering on the glass. Does not happen from external view.

I’ve had that since I first flew NTTR and Normandie. I thought it was just a VR thing.

I remember reading with deferred shading, the reflections on aircraft only update once every other second or so. Could be the delayed updating because he’s flying over a bunch of buildings and whatnot.

What Flickering?
The Flickering on the front glass is the Prop.

In the left and right quarter windows. The contrast flickers about every second or so. Thats bad.

It’s almost like a strobe effect on the front quarter windows.

MiG-15 does it too

I noticed it too.
It’s sampling the ground for updating the in-cockpit lighting.
If you stand still (landed) it doesn’t happen.

Imagine that the lighting engine sample an average of the color of the ground vertically under the cockpit to pick a coherent color to show on the canopy.
