Crap, itā€™s really hard to focus on work this afternoon.

What aircraft and map are you guys going to pop your 2.5 cherry with? Iā€™m thinking Mustang, Sabre, or Harrier in the Caucasus. Probably start with 2D, then second flight under the Oculus hood.

Yeah, I think that the catā€™s out of the bag. Mine has begun to peter out a bit. The TeamViewer guys are probably wondering what in the name of holy hades set their app on fire this afternoon.

I get that. My concern is with an example like Syria. Modelling Syria doesnā€™t give you a whole lot unless youā€™re flying for Russia or Assad, or a carrier, I guess. The targets might be there, but no coalition fixed wing aircraft operate from within the country. If youā€™re playing from a coalition perspective youā€™d need the distant support bases modeled, be those in Turkey, Cyprus, Jordan or Saudi Arabia.

Afghanistan works better because you can go with the period after the initial invasion where forces were stationed at Bagram and Kandahar (or the Soviet war).

Iā€™m gonna wait until the actual announcement before I start constructing my mountains from molehills.

For me there can only be one choice for a first flight around the new Caucasus - Mig-15.

And then a KA-50 flight with perhaps a deliberate crash into the treesā€¦

Itā€™s telling how quickly you dismissed this considering the Russian air force is the most complete in terms of playable units in the game.
