Apparently all the AIM-120 symbology, a new version of the Sparrow, FLOOD mode, and changes to the NIRD DLZ are all in as well
Heh aint it something. ED changelogs are traditionally incomplete. Often a bit of a fox hunt to see what else got changed and updated.
InterestingâŚ
Correct. Internally, the AIM-7 and AIM-120 versions now have the improved navigation system. Additionally, the internal AIM-7M now has several significant changes like corrected motor thrust-altitude dependence based on nozzle exit area and atmosphere pressure, adjusted drag and lift curves based on wind tunnel test data, and other changes.
We are now carefully testing these changes before we release and move to all AIM-7 and AIM-120 versions.
Thanks!

[âŚ] but the AIM-7MH with the loft mode definitely does something new. The aiming dot is above the target and the missiles climb to a decent height until about 5-10nm from the target. At 30kft and M1.0, I was getting Rmax at 40nm, Rne at 35nm and kills from 25-30nm (against AI fighters that moved a bit, but werenât fully defensive by any means). It definitely seems better than it was.
https://www.reddit.com/r/hoggit/comments/97hpcu/dcs_25220601_update_9_open_beta_changelog/e48cskz
Now the real question is if I try and lock the target at 40NM, is my radar:
A) Going to lock that dude instead of the friendly two miles in front of me
B) Maintain lock through the Crank.
Just had a quick run of the new AIM-120 instant action turkey shoot. The timers are in. My radar did not seem to loose lock all that much. ACM mode locks were pretty quick and AIM-9X is in! Holy mother of Bog thatâs an agile little snake that one!
Hey folks, Iâll try and keep this brief.
The new AIM-7M (I cannot confirm for the H as I believe itâs baked) has been updated with a new flight model. This flight model has considerable improvements in areas that arenât interesting to most of you. The short is that the current AIM-7M flies as close as you are likely going to see in a simulator to the real thing, in terms of dynamics. As for guidance, weâll have to wait and see.
New AIM-7M has IASGATG stamp of approval.
Good Day.

So checking out the files. I donât know what Hoggitâs on about. None of the AIM-120 or AIM-7 changes seem to have made it in, as stated by Wags. Itâll be something to keep an eye on.
I donât know about your files, but a new missile in the form of the AIM-7MH made it in the sim, and it sure does seem to have some of the new capabilities. Atleast in terms of guidance.
It seems to have a new loft capability, something the old Mike didnât used to do. The ASE dot gets put up way in the sky, and the jet is pretty finnicky about it. Itâs fairly demanding about how exactly you center it, the dot is much more mobile than it used to be in long range shots. Iâm connecting sparrows at way longer ranges than I used to.
Tacview reveals a pretty smooth looking ballistic curve. Only when switching to the terminal phase did the missile pull 5 degrees of angle at 0,3G. Nothing excessive.
Meanwhile the AMRAAM is still hampered by its old problems. At some point the missile just pulls a little to much angle and G destroying to much of its own energy to make the connect. It also doesnât get the new lofting cues.
The old mikes also got the new lofting cues. But the missiles donât seem to respond. they nose dive immediatly to a traditional pure pursuit and therefor fall way short of the target.
Iâve been trying the new missile against maneuvering targets as well. They seem to end up at the target range with enough kinematic energy to be dangerous, but they always seem to get distracted by chaff. They seem to be pretty chill about the targetsâ fairly hard pull. The missiles only pull about 6G themselves to keep up with the turning bandit until they pull 9G+ into a bundle of chaff.
Iâve been firing the old Mikes as well, to check if their FM has really improved. Itâs not something Iâm really able to form an opinion about. If IASGATG noted the FM got improved that may very well be the case. I also havenât shot the mike since the slammers became available, so I canât really tell if they can connect from a longer range than they used to. At any rate, like you said itâs something to keep an eye on. It can only get better from here.
Right, so the MH (Iâm going to call it the P because), definitely made it in, wasnât disputing that. However Hoggit & Co made it seem like a slew of FM and Guidance improvements made it in.
As far as I know missile definitions live in one of two places
The new way is \DCS World\CoreMods\aircraft\AircraftWeaponPack
I made a point to make a copy of the old files before updating.
The AIM-7 files
The only changes are adding a HOJ tag to the AIM-7P and AIM-7M, and changing the name of the AIM-7P from the AIM-7H to AIM-7MH. No substantial changes to the flight model or burn time. Note there are no substantial changes in blocks of code.
AIM-120
The âoldâ storage format that ED has been moving from is the Missile.lua which is in DCS World\Scripts\Database\scripts
File last updated timestamps
So no, I donât think those improvements are in. Yet.
Went for a Hornet test flight on this update and was surprised that it looks like the flight model drag bits got changed a little? On a quick Case 1 landing, it seemed like the flaps and gear-down are definitely showing less drag now. I popped out really high turning into the groove due to needing a lot less thrust than before. I think even the tail hook caused a small bump as well, which is new. One week they should just use some Vogon poetry for the change log and see if anyone notices, either that or just put â- various changesâ.
For the ICLS the longer needles are nice, looks more like the youtubes of the real thing now.
It was confirmed by a tester on their forums the drag was tweaked in this patch. Their commit message foo could use some work.
Nice looking forward to hunting those in the mountains of Iran.
Very nice. Looking forward to seeing Scud, Styx, SA-2 and Rapier being put into the game. Perhaps they will then move on to Cold War AAA?
By Chizh, has plans to build Cold war SAMs and AAAs

Did the Harrier LMAV crash bug make its way to stable?
Asking the real questions.
According to hoggit itâs still in.
I keep looking for the fix of the Harrier bug where AI Harriers cannot take off from normal runways due to them always trying to take off vertically but cannot due to too much weight. They will not do a conventional runway take-off. Bug has been around a long time and really hampers mission making. Wondering when this will get fixed?
Last time I saw an AI Harrier taking off from the Tarawa, they clipped through the island and UFOâd to their first waypoint.
