I’m getting horrible performance since this new update. Vr is borderline unplayable.
Has anyone else noticed a dip or is it just my PC getting old

Performance about the same for me, but flat screen. Tried rebuilding your shader cache?
Thats the Next Job I think. I’ll give it a go and report back.
Once my headache from the laggy stuttery mess I’ve been having subsides lol
No issues here.
Quick question … if i use @SkateZilla’s app do I just click the delete cache button on adv options and that’s it or is there more to it still
AFAIK that oughta do it fam
Thank you
I never had to clear the cache until about a month or so ago when I had poor performance and graphical glitches after one of the OB updates. It cleared things right up, so hopefully that’ll do it for ya.
I do it every update and every time the GeForce driver updates.
By cache do you guys mean the fxo and metashaders2 folders, or something different?
Bit disappointing last night as I was planning a meetup with @NEVO and the performance was so terrible that I gave myself motion sickness and a blinding headache and had to miss it. But following the advice on here and using @SkateZilla’s new tab made a heck of a lot of difference. No more weird glitches and laggy nonsense.
My PC is never going to run dcs brilliantly with my r295x2 being the age it is. But I’m happy for now. Thanks guys
Yes, those folders.
Oh, I didn’t know Skatezilla’s software did that for you. Cool. I clean those folders out every few flights.
TBH, I Clear cache before everytime before I launch DCS Now.

For anyone using the regular (non-steam) version of DCS, have you been able to update? I cannot currently get my server to update - it runs through the updater on startup so fast you can’t read it and then proceeds to launch DCS, the log showing it hasn’t updated.
The patch is live on steam, just want to rule out it not being live from ED’s servers yet as a potential.
I use skatezilla tool, and it updated joos’ fine sir, joos’ fine. haven’t run it yet tho. need to put kids to bed.
new geforce drivers out too, so update those as well and don’t forget to delete metashaders2 and fxo! (DCS shader cache)!!
Oh geez the trees in Caucasus look bad. It’s a known bug in the previous version, and one that obviously didn’t get squashed today!
In other news, I flew a three-wire landing in the tomcat today! :proud:
DCS: F-16C Viper Update
As we draw closer to the early autumn 2019 early access release of the Viper, progress has been rapid. You can find a list of our planned early access features here.
Our viper is already dropping bombs in CCIP and CCRP modes and strafing targets, and the navigation systems, flight model, and art is quite far along. The current focus is on rockets, air-to-air weapons and radar, the landing gear and underside of the aircraft, and tuning the flight model.
Next week we will start regular instruction videos. The first will be a cockpit orientation, and following that will be taxi and takeoff, waypoint navigation, VFR landings, and then unguided bomb attack.
