If ED wanted to continue its trend of 2000’s US Aircraft, and maximize all the work they are putting into the Viper and more specifically the Hornet, the only real answer would be a Block 1 Super Hornet. Which would also pair very well with the Hornet and upcoming Super Carrier.

I flew a VR hop last night in the Viper. Somewhat stating the obvious, but it’s my favorite aircraft by far when I want to fly for the joy of it, such is the pilot’s view, and the way the aircraft responds to control input. But the more I fly it, the more I realize how much left there is to bring it to the finish line. Given this and what’s already announced as being in the pipe, it’s hard to imagine anything beyond.

I did, too many times already … though I prefer F-19 Stealth Fighter.
I did had some fun with Nighthawk while replaying Jane’s ATF some time ago 
There was also one in Jane’s USAF, though all those were survey sims, with DCS we could get proper Nighthawk with all the avionics to play with, and since it doesn’t sport any radar it would be pretty complete with the systems already available in DCS.

Yeah, it’s interesting that modern flight sims abandoned that fine tradition of building the hype before starting the game. One of my personal favorites is from Jane’s USNF 97:
