DCS 2.5 Update Thread (2020)

Transport.dll encompasses all moving ground units.

Currently, units driving on roads can occasionally lose their sanity and as a result, the game or server will crash.

The update to “improve off road travel” for AI ground units took a clunky but working feature and resulted in one of our missions having a LAV that drives with a column up the open desert of the east coast of the PG peninsula suddenly break away from his column and go swimming along the coast (it’s a repeatable event).

You can also crash the game by destroying a bridge now as units drive across it (A bug I reported and it was confirmed to the team).

Copy that.

Unfortunately I did use this feature as a way to do it without scripting and the need to download MOOSE, etc. I had a pretty good mission going and then, “Poof”! It doesn’t work.

Oh I know you can use other Triggers and set zones to make troops “appear” and “disappear” to simulate getting out/in a helo but there are limits with that - besides it was way cooler to see them run over to where you landed.

ED will fix it, my life will be complete I’ll be happy again forever…well…probably not that much but it will be nice. :slightly_smiling_face:

EDIT: …and I still want the whole aforementioned Imperial/Metric units swap inside ME…let us not forget that! :grimacing:

$1 USD to the first person who posts the location and text alt tag where the new mandatory ejection seat pin is for the A-10C.

Real men ride the jet in…don’t need no stink’n pins…just say’n :open_mouth:

That’s unrealistic. Nobody but those with suicidal tendencies would go up in that crate without a silk elevator option. ;D

Was there ever a mention of price for the Channel Map and the P-47?

no word on price or bundles yet

The two P-47’s side by side trick my mind into thinking it’s a P-38 when I look at it quickly  Wishful thinking I suppose.

DCS forum is quite…no words from Devs.

The shop pages are up! But you can’t buy anything yet.

Shame they couldn’t make two versions of the Channel map; one for 1940, the other present day.

Ooh shiny!

I caught @NineLine saying this on the discord.

From that I can extrapolate there will be a patch today for sure, and it will drop in 2 hours at the latest.

Is there a quick rundown on DCS: The Channel Map vs DCS: Normandy 1944 Map?

@bignewy said on discord we should see the patch in about an hour.

I don’t think there is one. There’s a few videos out that show off the new channel map. It looks to be about 150nm across. It looks like the UK side is way more detailed than it was on Normandy, but I was happy to have the UK on the normandy map in the first place.

I am hoping that The Channel has more detail than continuous bocage, as trying to work ground units through all the trees is not a pleasant experience.
