DCS 2.5.x Screenshots (2019)

Now my system is back up to speed and I am enjoying high frame rates and high texture settings Ive taken to really getting to know the F14 as it always suffered as my worst performing module.

not any more! its silky smooth! I’ve been re reading all my manuals and have the case 1 recovery positively nailed now. its a handful at low speeds but its extremely rewarding to fly it correctly. I’m connecting with it now. manage the AOA and she wont bite.

Did a bit of navigation tonight getting to know jester a little better.

training to use TACAN to find the viking and a bit of light slurping of juice which is MUCH easier now the frame rate is solid (does anyone else find the viking much easier to tank from or is it just me?)

Chased some L39c’s that came poking around and killed them with sidewinders and shot down a random Hip with a sparrow but didnt see the bingo setting
had a long 70 mile flight back at near idle and used my nice shiny new TACAN and jester abilities to find my way home in a long decending glide
…landed on the stennis with a messy 2 wire with minimal fuel left.

but I did it! what a great piece of kit the tomcat is. I wish i’d formatted the PC months ago!

Are you using the “clear category” button?
Doesn’t take long then.

Operation opera-style is so much fun in MP, we used to do lots of that in FreeFalcon.

Loved the pop-up symbology for that. Wonder when we can get it in DCS. I used to do it all the time to strike airfields in the Israel campaign in BMS. Too many SAMs for high altitude strikes.

An almost great shot of a MiG-19…but there’s a lawn dart blocking some of it though. :cccp::wink:

“Are you using the “clear category” button?”

I use it for some of the stuff, but sometimes it will remove bindings, that should have been left in.

Including the Couger MFD’s I have 9 controllers hooked up and the only one without anything assigned to it in DCS is my CH Flightstick Pro.

I am still trying to figure out what to put where. On top of that i also delete the keyboard assignment for stuff that i use a controller for. Then i can use those for other unassigned stuff.

Ohh I’m getting dizzy just thinking about it.

Flying around with a big grin. Just the skin for a Danish Viking

Then there is the Thunder Birdie:

Incomplete and in pretty haggard shape, it’s still wonderful fun. I eagerly wait this module to mature.

For the Republic!

Ohh yes yes yes.
That is the livery that i really hope to see DCS. It has already been requested.

The best part is that they intend to keep it on the plane until its retirement. I guess that it will stay on it even after that.

It is a part of the Danish Intercept Readiness System (Is that how you translate Afvisningsberedskabet?)

Intercept Readiness?
Some words don’t translate well…

Reading it with the German word equivalents it looks like it would translate to “Abwehrbereitschaft” which in turn would translate to “defense readiness” I guess.

Hard to translate indeed.

Give me a break. It obviously translates to “Let’s go viking and raid some British monasteries.”… isn’t that what pretty much all Scandinavian words translate to.
