DCS 2.7 Discussion

IIRC I have done that before.
It should work.

It has a funky mechanism from itself (requires the NWS to be held, will only engage if pedal position closely matches nosewheel position). I haven’t noticed any changes to it but haven’t flown it in 2.7 yet. I feel you get around fine in a sabre just using the differential brakes.

The NWS on the Sabre is ‘special’ but last time I have flown it was still consistent.

You need to press and hold the NWS button ( which I presume you know since you have flown it). If you turn and then want to reverse the turn you need to center the rudder and hold NSW depressed until the nose wheel is centered, then you can continue the turn with opposite rudder. Same if you want to go straight - center pedals and hold NWS until the nose wheel is centered, then release.

AH!
That’s the bit I was missing!

All the rest sort of inferred, it’s not that alien- not as the MiG15s Compressed Air driven system …

Thanks also to @Sryan !
Thanks to both input now I have a clearer idea on how to use it. :+1:

Good graphics settings comparison for the new 2.7 settings

This south Atlantic map is looking very nice.

That was a good interview. Will likely be the only reason I’ll dip into my GPU/Mobo funds (after the new Rudder, Stick, VR headset,… )

The fact we may get a modern map and an 80s map is good news. I look forward to a DCS Vulcan coming soon

Operation Epsom last mission - the look of success!

Or the look of something, at least. Maybe relief I’m not in charge of flying the plane anymore.

So…is that Spit pilot named Eileen?

Anyone know what happened to the Tarawa? It used to be so detailed and it seems in the last update that its all gone. I haven’t seen any mention of changes to it. Maybe a setting I’ve overlooked?

Will you be here all week??

I’ve not noticed - can you grab a pic?

I have noticed the ‘scenery details’ slider (mine is ‘1’) changing things slightly and then also a general change in Video RAM management. It seems like once it hits ‘full’ (which is fine, it should use it) then it tends to use lower textures for the buildings and objects - sort of like a LOD but for texture loading. It’s more apparently flying low over a city on the Syria map, in that the city blocks sort of become sharper as the textures load more slowly as you get closer. So maybe that for the T?

Heres a pic from March of last year.

Same mission, pic taken today. No lights, no deck crew, no vehicles. Just really strange, and I’m surprised no one else has mentioned this when I’ve looked around.

edit: apparently the lights do still come on, at least late at night.

Is the detail objects due to the supercarrier? There is a lot under static objects that can be added to the boat’s deck, not sure if that is also the case for the Tarawa.

I didn’t add anything originally, since probably a year or two ago they were baked in to the model. I mean I could add things, but I want to know what happened to the old model lol.

Edit: obviously I added the static helicopters and AV8s
