There should be a PowerShell command to remove it by the KB number iirc.
What really fries me is what they did to the booting in “safe” mode . The only easy way to do it is when you are already in Windows !
I see this a lot in any industry . People changing things to justify their jobs . Doesn’t matter if the change is better or worse , or results in more or less efficiency . What matters is spitting out memos and “output” too often ironically called “productivity” .
I have a problem with the A10C and CII in that the spi is shaking and will not move around as it should just shakes about in one position. EIther the TOC on the HUD or TGP it just shakes in space and when caged to steerpoint it just drifts downward. Any ideas?
@BeachAV8R looks like we get to fly the Hawk again
I’m finally home for more than 2 days and it was a very rainy Saturday, so I fired up 2.7 and gave it a proper look.
Sorry, but the clouds everyone is praising are horrible. The lower level shimmers and jumps. Looks cartoonish and not worth all the hype.
FPS is about the same as before. I havent yet tried Syria though.
Despite me blocking the Windows update, it still ran but I havent allowed it to reboot and finish installing. I do wish we could also sue MS for their shite work. Simply stupid.
Sounds like you had a fun couple days. They hace some rough edges and such but boy howdy when they do work…!
For those of you using VR and 2.7…I had been experiencing this, but some users on Reddit seem to confirm this…that a lot of us are getting Window Out Of Focus instances even though we have the options checked to constrain the mouse to the DCS window. Apparently this most often happens in DCS when you move your mouse to the bottom of the screen…for some reason it is picking up the Windows bottom taskbar. Possible solutions…shift-Enter to go full screen and/or move your taskbar to the left or right of your desktop while playing DCS World.
YMMV
Thus far , i have had no luck in completely solving Windows O.o.F , though the occurence frequency has declined since moving the taskbar . I still get it on ~ 1/5 flights .
Just the day before yesterday , i disabled Windows notifications to see if that clears the problem . It will be a week or two before i have an answer , and if my ossified brain permits , i’ll report back if it helps .
I’m having that problem randomly, unrelated to mouse clicks. I finally figured out it was VoiceAttack crashing silently and then Viacom’s taskbar app bringing it back up like it should, albeit taking DCS out of focus.
I made a post about this above…If I minimize all open windows…or at least move them to the bottom of my screen…it solves my WOOF issue…I’m uncertain if this is dependent on the location of your VR Tracker…As mine sits above my PC about 3’ above where I sit.
You know Storm…initially I felt this way also,This was Compounded by the fact my 2.7 download took over 8hrs to complete.
But the nxt dayI gave it another try…played with different setting…tried different cloud presets…and BOOM!!! I started to get what everyone’s talking about.
For Me it’s not just the clouds themselves…but The Shadows and reflections they cause…I find this Super Immersive and Beautiful.
Try doing some Carrier Traps in a Rain Squall…Really Nice Challenge
Yeah, I guess I expected more from the initial go and their presets. I guess I need more time to tweek it. Just feel I’m doing more tweeking with DCS, than playing.
We don’t get the pretty details in VR , but the soft transitions and cloud-shadows on the landscape are awesome . Multiple layers are sweet .
Increasing gamma seems to offer more detail as well . And seeing the clouds in a Tpod match what you’re seeing through the hud is cool too !
So “window out of focus” again today . Mouse checkbox ticked , alt+enter , all windows minimised , notifications off , taskbar on side . Happened each of the last two days . Moved taskbar to top , but the incident today happened as i was taxiing to parking , with the last mouse click 30 miles away…gonna have to look into that VoiceAttack/Vaicom thing .
Apparently MS fixed the issue with lower performance in games.
The one thing that bothers me with the new weather is that they still use those ugly sprite puffs when you enter any precipitation. They should just get rid of that effect altogether IMHO.
I take it that’s in VR? If so, it’s a known issue and they are working on it.
I solved it by Alt tabbing to the DCS rendered window on the desktop and going Alt+Enter to make it full screen. YMMV tho…
I also have the task bar fixed.
Thanks ! Will give that a try as well .
A little late to the party I know, but I played one of the last missions I had left in Epsom with 2.7 and I just can’t believe how good everything looks.
Spent the beginning just hitting F2 and watching the other flights go in and out of the clouds, then when flying the first leg there was a break in the weather that just lit up Caen beautifully, like a postcard or something. I guess I just didn’t realize what a difference this would make to the whole picture, so to speak.
And the flak is terrible!
Not strictly related to 2.7 but does anyone else have hard time handling the Sabre Nosewheel?
I noticed that, during my flying with Shurem and we landed, the nosewheel behaviour is … inconsistent?
I read the Chuck’s Guide but still is a bit… peculiar.
I guess I have to get some more stick time.
I’ve taken the Open Beta plunge - can i just copy my inputs folder from the stable installation, to get the same HOTAS and key assignment for all my modules?
