I heard from others and read that the engine is pretty weak in terms of power, especially when loaded up with ordinance on the wings etc…much like the C-101CC. I always struggle to get that thing off the runway when I’m loaded to the max in fuel and weapons. C-101CC doesn’t climb all that fast either when loaded with all that weight. I’m hearing same sort of things with the MB-339A.
An earlier model but a friend of my brother did his RAAF pilot training in a MB 326H. He referred to the engine/performance in it as it as ‘constant speed, variable noise’
I haven’t loaded it up with any weapons so far and I’ll probably only use the MB-339 as a trainer and aerobatics jet (same as I do with the L-39C and C-101EB, I never really fly the L-39ZA and C-101CC) but yes, it has a very weak engine. Even the small wingtip tanks make it behave a lot more sluggish than without tanks but in a clean config it is a lot of fun to fly and feels nice.
On another note this is a lot of fun as well - cloud surfing in the Viper:
Thank you
Those pics were showing the awesome work CrazzyEddie did on the british liveries but the mod also comes with US Navy and German Navy Liveries.
oh, and of course a Belgian Coast Guard one (am Belgian)
There are 3 variants (SH-3A, SH-3H and Westland Mk48) as well as 2 folded variants to be found under static objects → structures, to place on a carrier deck. Sure beats the ol’ Seahawk
For full transparency I must also disclose the existence of another Seaking mod which was released pretty much at the same time. That model is also really nice and has a lot more details. Still I think there’s room in DCS for the 2 to coexist peacefully
I’ve run the game with both loaded and they are not conflicting.

ED put in a Halloween Easter egg that must of activated today. So far I’ve seen skeleton deck crew, glowing pumpkins at Andersen airfield in Guam and spooky sounds in the villages.
For all of you who fly in VR I recommend a virtual Walkaround of the Jug. It doesn’t come across in the Screens but it’s seriously impressive and incredibly detailed, down to the mesh inside the air intake - yes I stuck my head into the Jug’s air intake
sorry for the double post but it wouldn’t let me edit the previous one
EDIT: oh, I think it’s because it was in the process of reformating it
and a lil blast from the past - DCS 1.2.8 (2014)
Those are amazaing, especially in the last one after a trap in burner. Love the DoF effect in Screenshots but can’t stand it while playing so I always have it off
Oh yeah, I hate the default DoF, I’m using a modded one: correctly calculated depth of field - DCS Modding - ED Forums
I’ve had to tweak it a bit since 2.7 because the default value was just too high.
DoF in DCS is very weird tho, its effect depends on the map as well as where you are on said map…DCS being DCS I guess
