They’re probably trying to get all bugfixes that are ready out before the Christmas break.

Has there been no “2023 and beyond” video or did I miss it?
Edit: I just saw that last year’s video came out on Dec. 24th so if there is one, it’ll probably come tomorrow.

It’s interesting that ED used to publicly oppose the concept of the bubble that F4 et al employ and now that they are working on a DC themselves, they had to retroengineer it into DCS. That was probably no small feat.

It is. And saying that, I can’t fault them for wanting to do it differently. And then, when realizing they can’t do it, go back on their words.
I wonder if campaign engine management is something that will benefit from having its own CPU core…?

It’s one of the reasons why F4 used multithreading at a time when that was very uncommon for games.

I’d love to read a detailed history of MicroProse Falcon series development, up through version 4.0.

Makes no sense. To me that’s like saying they oppose LOD on models; it’s the same concept, abstractly, applied in another context. But I’m an amateur here

This sounds good. Yet to determine the final cost though.

I remember reading an article about and that the campaign engine nearly bancrupted the whole project.

I remember that too or something along those lines.

Me too! It deserved a documentary.
I wonder how much the development of Falcon 4.0 contributed to the demise of MicroProse as we knew it?
