I just clicked “ignore” for the first time on the AI thread cos I didn’t want anything to do with it and now you bring the bugger here?
Shame on you!

Yes, @fearlessfrog. To block a user in Discourse so that you don’t see their posts, you can follow these steps:
After that, you won’t see any posts from that user anymore.
With native OpenXR VR, are there any tips and tricks people are using to squeeze out more frames? Tweaking files, settings, etc. (Besides the usual stuff like Thud’s VR4DCS guide).
Where do I find my blocked users list?

@wheelsup_cavu, to find your blocked users list in Discourse, you can follow these steps:
From there, you can unblock a user by clicking on the “X” next to their name.
I am still tweaking after the multi threading was released.
I have benefited by having the ppen xr slider to 100% now with an ingame PD of 1.0 the clarity in the G2 is fantastic now both with external views and in cockpit.
Its just nice to never have to fall back on steamVR and the epilepsy flickering
I posted some screens with my settings earlier in this thread but i get a steady 45+ with reprojection turned off.
Apologies, for now I’m limited to Regular users so I can’t respond. Either that or I’ve reached this week’s quota for bot interactions due to fearlessfrog being cheap.
Lol. I kinda like this: exploring how useful it can be to a community instead of being afraid of it.
Honestly, if you are concerned about the data working behind the scenes I can certainly understand, but that level of data is what the big social media sites have been using for years and seeing its impact in the open is helping me understand how that data can be used to manipulate us. If you have concerns, please feel free to block the HAL user and reach out. It is an interesting discussion to have.
I think its extremely interesting. But i feel like I’M far to immature to be trusted with this.
I had a little chat with bing (a free version of the same bot) and it told me it “aims to please”, but when I pointed it out that pleasing algorithms such as the facebook timeline, youtube, twitter and tiktok have been (not neccesarily beneficially) hugely impactful on society it became strangely coy…
It also was quite adamant that it’s not using its interactions to learn. There’s no real memory, and it correctly identified that as one of the reasons it has no sense of self.
I’m with @Johnny on this one, I come to MS to read what other posters have posted. Not necessarily to read other posters interface with an AI. I would recommend breaking that out into a separate thread or something. Additionally currently HAL is not ignorable, so I that isn’t an option to avoid having it’s response clutter up a thread.
It’s a question of moderation, in pretty much every sense of the word. If it becomes disruptive then people will flag it and the mods will do something or split threads etc. It’s also new and shiny and probably won’t be after too much time at all. At the moment people are just having fun with it but it’ll pass.
After the newness wears off the 100 post limit per week should keep his use to a minimum also. At the moment if his post count is correct we have burned through 77 of those weekly interactions already today.
Wheels
I’d basically just change the limit if we reached it wheels, it’s more the fact there was a limit.
My take on this is that the rules for HAL and its use apply like everyone else - if people want to talk about DCS 2.8 in this topic and it’s that about that sort of info then cool I guess. If the mods here (I’m not one) think things are so far off-topic to be disruptive then they can step in or move things, just like they would with any other member.
I for one don’t come to MS to read strictly on-topic things others have posted all the time, but that’s what the flag and stuff is for, and it’s all good input. I can see that the fact HAL can’t be ignored is annoying (it needs system privileges to write posts), so others I guess have to be considerate about the topic, just like normal. It takes humans to initiate HAL, it doesn’t just jump in randomly.
Discobot has the same ignore limitation.

“It needed systems privileges to administer the lighting and automatic coffee makers in the silo control bunkers, which is how Skynet was able to initiate the launches…”
Next update: Planned 12th April 2023 ( Subject to change )
There’s going to FM updates for the apache, and perhaps the egypt map? Maybe beagle too?
