I doubt We will see a Phantom Release with 2.9…maybe a pre-order??? I think Heatblur Will Really Build up The Hype-o-Meter Substantially Before We see a Release
I do think TFR and JDAM’s are coming for The StrikeEagle in this patch.

Mirage F1BE is confirmed for this patch!
Hope they’ll let the F1 enter the trial program shortly after, so I can give F1 tours and trainings to those who are on the fence about it.
Are we sure that this isn’t 2.9?
OMG! Is it going to be another “Lots of improvements you cant see, nothing is tangible” But the changelog will put you to sleep in 10 minutes or less. LoL
I hope theres an Easter Egg the size of Dallas. i.e. WW2 South Pacific or MiG-17 is ready for duty…
I had to go get my jollies at MSFS 2020 last week. I got the FG-1D and a few more planes… but in the end im back to DCS… for better or for worse…
Fingers, toes all crossed for a big update.
Interesting new system options too!
That final sentence though. Does he hint to SRS integration?
i did wonder myself
Boy I’m thinking no update today… rare to see one unleashed this late in the day.
Boy your right… man somewhere I lost a day…
More like LOTATC and things.
The whole point of integrating this was to make it so you don’t have to use external applications (ie SRS).
As SRS and the Voice chat are the same thing.
More Likely it’s to interface with other external tools, that relied on SRS as a Interface between that App and DCS.
There are several that I can think of off hand, but LoATC would be one of the most important.
Interesting.
It’s strange that they decide to develop the capabilities of one external app completely inhouse and integrate with another…
IMO, the whole internal voice chat stuff could have been integrated from SRS in the first place in a similar fashion
LoATC isnt the same as SRS,
Having voice comm’s integrated and effects radio specific is something ED wanted to do.
However there are other apps, that arent affiliated with Voice Comm’s that still use SRS.
LoATC for example, players in DCS and the ATC, would both use SRS to Communicate.
Moving Voice Comm’s in house breaks that link, and forces a user to either retain SRS and/or use both SRS and VoiceComms.
Having Voice Comm’s able to interface with External Apps via audio channel plugin, would allow the LoATC Operator to function with pilots in DCS World using the same built in Voice Comms, and the ATC would only be reachable / addressable on their specific frequency. Which adds to the realism.
No one is saying SRS isn’t great. But a lot of users are put off by having to install 3rd party products to use functions.

raises hand
Me too, but man the 3rd party products (Vaicom, SRS, OpenKneeboard) just work and are incredible compared to the built-in equivalents (if any). It really showcases the creativity of the community and passionate volunteers.
I wish ED would work towards a mod system that allowed mods to be integrated in the same way workshop works for Arma 3, or even better Reforger (where it’s inside the game, not external).
UPDATING NOW!!!
