By simple, I misspoke. I meant the generic comms command "". If you are flying a mission, like some of the Instant Action missions, where the creator has enabled Easy Communication in the mission options, will any radio transmit button work to pull up the generic comms "" menu? Or must you also have a the backslash key assigned to a HOTAS button?
Then thereās this.
Unfortunately for VAICOM users, it sounds like Pene is getting pretty burned out. Bless him. Without remuneration, it remains to be seen how long he will stay motivated.
Ah, yes you will need the backslash command. Strange that a mission creator would enforce Easy Communication, though.
No big deal. I use the 5 way thumb switch on my throttle. If I ever stop using VAICOM, I can do away with using shift commands on the same switch. So the center one is now backslash. Nice that the legacy and Super Hornet use the same command profile.
Now i have just noticed somthing on the Razbam discordā¦ I hop on there every now and then ā¦ just to see if any thing new has happened ā¦ was there today and noticed thisā¦ i am not sure who Zeus67 is in the razbam communityā¦ but he is playing DCS
@Troll please remove if you think this violates anythingā¦ but its on their public discord
Perhaps Zeues is testing functionality of their modules, but I wouldnāt read much into it.
Besides, I would say that being in DCS means theyāre NOT working on it (insofar as I define āworkingā and ātestingā as separate functions and do not put ātestingā under that umbrella).
In other words, being in-game proves nothing. For all we know, they own the P-51 or something and are just using the product vs using it as part of job function.
Iām not sure anything will change while Grey and Zambrano have to sign off on any agreement going forwardā¦ but itās somewhat heartening to see thereās not a total ban on DCS within Razbam?
I donāt see why RB staff isnāt allowed to play DCS for their own enjoyment simply because their professional contract has fallen out.
Yeah, either bug hunting in existing modules or just playing it. No big deal at all.
Iām picturing Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy taking on Bill Burr and MIchael Winslow in the best stand-up fight ever.
I can already see āthe taterā sipping whisky and smoking a cigar in the audience for that gig.
You know, I hate to admit it, butā¦ Iāve turned into that kind of Texan. I havenāt lived in the state in two decades and I still did it.
We really should classify being Texan as a disability, there are just some things I cannot help but do
NOTE 1: This video was prepared prior to the release of the 2025 and Beyond Video, and it is based on questions submitted prior.
NOTE 2: As always, I cannot comment on 3rd parties and related matters.
(so manage expectations accordingly, lol)
-But great to see, nonetheless!
I see where this flight is headed (and have for a while): KMMO
Thatās where the masses want to go (I hear it in the questions, the ones selected and elsewhere)
Is neither good or bad.
If they continue to provide the minimal tools I can still find ways to enjoy it: āYou [must] create your own funā - Nick G.
Yes, thatās how a lot of us play DCS. We create our own fun. In our squadron nothing would happen without the guys working out training plans and building missions.
The only thing where I donāt put in much effort to have fun is flying warbirds on the PO WWII Server (apart from the usual mission planning and some basic training whenever a new WWII module releases). But even that wouldnāt be possible without a passionate dev team from the community to create the missions and run the server.
Understood.
I play mostly instant action scenarios for a quick fix or scripted campaigns. Currently doing UN missions in a huey over Lebanon. Getting a save game functionality would be a great boon to me. I would love a bit of a metagame, such as a dynamic campaign.
