Oh and by the way, @Freak and @schurem, there’s the area of the tank museum we qent at, AND the airbase I work in that you visited.
A pilot I befriended said he’s going to teach me the real low level routes. :sunglasses::star_struck:

I mean OMG, the whole area around Hannover is there and that’s exactly the area where Red Storm Rising happens.

And Team Yankee and Hackett’s WWIII. Man, did that one end a bummer

Speaking of which, different AO but so did Chieftans.

It has been a while since I read it… A good yarn, right up there with the best of ‘Cold War heroic airport fiction’, but there is a lot you have to overlook which means I can’t see it as a believable narrative of WWIII (tank) combat.

Hacket’s WWIII on the other hand, phew it is almost like reading a history book.

in the text about the map, it mentions " the extensive power grids" are they going to be implemented ? also I am wondering if the dynamic campaign will work on all maps, so far we have only seen glimpses and thats on hte black sea map… and another thing are they spliting the map with the three phases being the different high quality areas like they have with Iraq and afganistan

It would be awesome if you could turn off the lights by bombing a transformer, power station and such.

I really really think- no strike that-. … believe, that must part of the DC.

Infrastructure simulation is part of the logistics after all, just as bridges, railroads and fuel farms.

And that was also part of Red Storm Rising too.
The NATO forces sent F-111 to destroy a power station right before the second airbase strike hit the Icelandic airfields.

Which makes me think if in the future wars there will be “Windmill plinking” with GPS guided SDB to reduce the power availability of enemy countries

Recall seeing that request on the ed forum more than once. Who knows, while they’re rooting around in the engine for the DC they might tick this box?

Welcome to one of my areas of expertise.

I was thinking about exactly this as well for tactical implications.

Honestly, given the accuracy and cost effectiveness of the SDB, that seems like a prime mission for it.

Which also breaks my heart since those wind turbines are one of my favorite ‘future’ aesthetics as a kid.

They’ll go for the transmission and distribution infrastructure, not the actual wind farms.

More birds, lots less stones.
