the download has just dropped from Mbs to Kbs …
I am now well overa TB in DCS. 750 left on my 2TB SSD. YIKES
Yup, 1.34TB here. It’s getting big Still a lot of room left on my 4TB NVMe but I am glad I went with 4TB drives
Going live
I wish I was not at work in my cubicle.
W O W…download speeds are Abysmal
You can say that again!
right with you there
Man that tour around Germany was a solid 3h of flying
Love the map already and it’s just going to get better with time.
The route was Büchel → Spangdahlem/Bitburg → Ramstein/Kaiserslautern → Bad Dürkheim → BASF Ludwigshafen → Mainz/Wiesbaden → Frankfurt a.M. → refueling at 20000ft over Kassel then going low over Kassel for a Nav Fix → Leipzig → Berlin (Nav Fix over the Siegessäule) → Wollin/Usedom (Peenemünde) → Straight to Lübeck because of fuel constraints, after taking off again another Nav Fix on the Fehmarn Bridge and Finally landing in Hamburg-Finkenwerder. Quite a trip
80 gigs for a hotfix is huge.
Has anyone been able to drop GBU-12s in the Viper with the LITENING pod? I can’t get it too.
I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong or if ED has, once again, broken something. Which, really, is commentary on how they badly need new project leaders.
UPDATE: Sorted it! Friggin peripherals. I like it when the issue is my end, because I can solve it.
Just tried a Rescue Helo mission on the Germany map on my server: Angels over Germany [Helicopter Medevac Sandbox] - Single and Multiplayer - User Created Missions General - ED Forums Pretty tough landing zones, too tough for me, but very scenic to explore Berlin, Hamburg and Frankfurt/Rhein-Main area.
Ooooooh, me loves a challenge!
The problem for me was not Hamburg - I get 150+ FPS usually (on a clean map) but I limit it to 65FPS since I have 60Hz display (before anyone asks 65 helps with tearing - I rather use this method than Vsync).
Today I wanted to find the place on the map that causes trouble, flew around Hamburg - all was fine. The problem started to emerge when I headed east - close to Stralsund the FPS started to drop - 1st to around 40FPS then even lower. I switched to free-camera since it allows for fast and precise movement around the map and found a rough place where it was evident. I wanted to record it with debug options displayed (CTRL-Pause) but weirdly the problem dissapeared? I have a suspicion that perhaps some shader compilation was being done in the background (I cleared my nvidia shader folders not so long ago, note that those are different from the DCS shader folder) - maybe that was it? Anyway now I’m getting fluid frames without any drops.
Now I’m waiting for my 64GB RAM to arrive since I’m currently on 16 (4x4GB) which will not cut it for object-dense scenarios.
God
DAMN!
I vote best DCS video…ever.
It hit me straight in my heart.
No… I’m not crying! You’re crying!
When I hear that song my brain immediately accesses a ‘mission’ from, oh, 1983/84-ish, where me and my wingman roll into a target-rich night club scenario (no dating apps) . After making sure we shacked our TOT at the local bank drive thru (before they closed, no ATM’s yet) to cash our [measly] paychecks. Eventually recovering via the late night breakfast anchor track before RTB.
IIRC the non-English version was the first to come out [naturally]. Nobody cared that they didn’t understand the words; it highlighted all the attractive DMPI’s, making them easier to spot (on the dance floor).
Have a G’day
