Iâm still lost on whatâs different between the -135 and the early -135. Externally they look identical. Are all the differences under the hood?
Seems like something that could have been an advanced properties drop-down like in the F1 and Fulcrum rather than a completely separate module.
At any rate, the CH47 seems to have gotten a nice AFCS improvement at some point. Turns are much smoother without the mushy deadzone on the pitch axis in fast forward flight, and she doesnât get sucked into the ground on landing any more. I still have some weird issues with trim, though.
The AFCS has been pretty decent for at least 6 months now. The trim hat works pretty much like a trim hat in a fixed wing aircraft. It works so well that I can fly the Chinook almost completely hands off, only relying on tapping the trim hat every once in a while to correct drift and it can also be used to fly slow maneuvers. For anything more demanding like hard maneuvers, take off and landing, holding the cd rel button pressed is the way to go
When I last flew her a month ago, there was a stiff break-out force on the roll axis even when I had CDEL depressed. Thatâs gone now.
Ah that might explain why I easily set it down on a very narrow forest path in the Harz mountains when I last flew it about a month ago (maybe 3 weeks?). I didnât think much of it but subtle AFCS improvements might explain why it was almost effortless. There was barely a meter clearance to the conifer trees on either side of the rotor discs
You know what would be nice? The Balkans for DCS.
Wow, Iâm excited. Although not very popular, the Sinai Map by OnReTech is really good, although I whish, theyâd update it more frequently, especially for bug fixes

This map will have all the places that are very dear to me, Trento, Trieste, Gorizia, Udine, Taranto (where I was born), Gioia del Colle (EF FTW!), Galatina di LecceâŠ
Canât wait! ![]()
(I know small and not-so-small towns will not me matching the real thing, but still)
Youâll definitely have to give us some guided tours!
Itâd be my pleasure!
EDIT: Iâm surprised how much the building we see in these pictures actually have the Slovenian/Balkan feel to it. Personal experience.

Ohhh My Poor SD!!! ![]()

When they bring Dubrovnik to DCS I want a flyable Dragon ![]()
Aww heck yea!
Very happy we get to see a map that covers the Adriatic Sea. Now, not to be a pooper, but werenât people sort of dissapointed with SinaĂŻ? I hope the devs will receive a more favorable critical reception with this one.
And finish Iraq!
