So at this point I am thinking about why ED has not released the “And Beyond”. Maybe they are trying to avoid the criticism they always get. Maybe they are trying to keep it more real this year. Well, while nobody is expecting the F-35, F-15 or even the Zero in 2026, there are some projects that may see the light of day. But I think of the unpredictable past and it is sooooo hard to judge what ED is going to do. Every time you think you got it figured out, you are wrong.
Personally, I would be happy with the Hellcat and some adversaries for it (read assets pack). Maybe someone will come out of left field and release a MiG-17 or La-7. Who knows…
This year was different for me in DCS world. I chose to concentrate on WHAT I HAVE instead of new shiny toys. I skipped the C-130. Although its a Beautiful module, I thinks I will play with it for a month and then it will sit. I instead got my Phantom and Mirage (M2KC, F1EE and F1CE) on. I poked a bit at my favorite mods like the OH-6 and F-104. I’m learning to fight in the Phabulously Phustrating Phantom while reading Palace Cobra. When you get it right, its so rewarding.
So, I am curious what will ED have in the trailer this year… F-22, X-Wing Fighter, Donkey Ox Cart… you never know…
Seems a waste of time for them (Heatblur, ED, and others) to cook up these delicious treats for us, and me to spend money on, to simply lick the icing off the top and move on.
They’re just late. Simple as that. Each year they release it a little bit later than planned because there is no real deadline. Honestly, A Video implying the existence of a dynamic campaign and some shots of an F35 model flying in DCS is the last thing I need right now. I’ve read their roadmap, I got the gist of it. Now I would just really love them to actually work on their code in order to DCS to run nicely on my system again and maybe get us a fraction of the improvements they are planning in some reasonable timeframe. But that’s just me, not trying to throw shade on anybody else’s excitement…
@taubkin I saw the roadmap and it read something like this to me; “Dont expect anything, We hear you that there is a lot to work on. We will be making small improvements to the base game” In All honesty, I prefer that to the PR disaster of the Corsair.
Nothing wrong in doing the best you can and being upfront about it. Much better than pretending to listen to users and keep releasing half baked money grabs such as 2 new dead maps at the same time… lol
IDK, when the Heat Blur F-4E was officially announced, I literally wept with joy. I guessed correctly that it was a long way off, but knowing that the best DCS developer with a proven, if not always prompt, track record in the form of the Tomcat was entrusted with the Phantom, was right up there with the birth of our twins.
I know this might seem boring, but I’d like to hear an update on third party developers, RAZBAM modules, etc. We’ve got a lot of great things in the future but also some great modules currently available that I don’t want to lose.
I put the whole DCS folder in the excepted list. In addition to preventing errors like this, it significantly improved DCS menu and mission loading times.
I should probably rephrase. I was having an issue with significant DCS loading times. Putting the whole folder in the excepted list fixed it.
I put the whole DCS folder as exempt. I was getting the error for the F-14 and I ignored it… Then it started getting on the F-14 And F-15E… Exempted the folder… PROBLEM FIXED.
