DCS 2.9

Nonono, as @BeachAV8R said you have absolutely nothing to be sorry for. :folded_hands:

I just went to the forum to check and indeed, this was posted by an Ugra employee. My guess is that this was never signed off by ED.

I’m in Lelystad now, having flown the F-100 for a bit. It’s a very cool, temperamental plane, I managed to kill the engine three times in a row! Looks slightly rough still, but it’s definitely on finals!

The MiG-17 pit seemed a little further along. It flies well, as you’d expect really. I crashed it on final approach, just as I did to countless MiG-15s.

Two weeks!

WinCTRL (the artist formerly known as winwing) are showing off the cyber taurus, their force feedback stuff. The hardware feels really fook’n solid, but the software needs more time in the oven.

@NineLine was fairly impressed with my son’s valley flying

ALL OF MY ENVY. I want both of those right now. Gimme!

Also, always approach with speed brake out in old Soviet birds. Their throttle response times are downright glacial. So, you’re looking at an approach with speed brakes out at 70-80% throttle. You’ll be greasing those tires on landing everytime!

I literally just saw the video presentation for the Cyber Taurus line and I’m literally blown off my socks! That stuff is absolutely amazing!

I would have never imagined a cockpit linkage system for home systems :exploding_head:

@komemiute do you have a link to that?

Did they really post this (the search engine at ED forums sux - they may have removed it)?

This isn’t the place for that IMO.

As for:

All that was needed was, “We have added new SAM sites”.

I assume this was wrtten by a person trying to market a feature in a military game.

https://forum.dcs.world/topic/386558-dcs-syria-update-2026/

Interesting. On that link (there’s only 1 page) the only ref’s to, for instance,‘Gaza’ are:

  • The Gaza Strip will also be added in this update.
  • New territory in the Gaza Strip and Israel

Doesn’t show it was edited. Wonder if I’m getting re-directed to a different page based on my locale? That would not shock me but these kinds of technical details are not my area.

Zero hits on ‘Israeli army’s actions in the Gaza Strip’ BTW.

It’s not that this is technically not possible, it just serms very unlikely for ED to go to such lengths on a forum post of a 3rd party. Much more likely that it received moderator attention.

Hey @jross I am definitely not trying to set you up with something false here. The way I reposted it here on Mudspike is how it was shortly after it got put online. Like less than 2 hours after posting. It was changed shortly after people commented on the distasteful aspect of the text. I am also more than sure that their moderators can change posts without leaving too much evidence to the public.

I’m hip. I didn’t take it that way at all. Just shocked that that would be posted and went over there out of disbelief - about them - not anyone here.

Yeah part of what motivated me to drive the 100km was to fondle those cyber tauruses. The biggest version is strong. Me gusto mucho.

I can’t really vouch for precision but for the quick flight I had, perfectly serviceable. Nineline told me it is about ready for production but the software isn’t quite ready for prime time. And uh. yeah.

As for the Syria map announcements, Nineline gave a hearty chuckle to my “in russia, room reads you” gag.

I consider combat sims as a form of esports . nobody is banned for life from DCS after loosing virtual combat

wish that people only ’ fight ’ irl on sportfields not battlefields

Yeah.. well, not in the state they’re in now. Both had aome glaring placeholders. Flight models felt right though. The MiG-17 feels very much like a slightly refined and heavier MiG-15. Which it is! So yeah.

The hun wasn’t called led sled for nothing. It is going to rock. That pit isn’t quite ready for the prime time, but it’s going to be very sweet.

DTC is really coming together now

Ah, so with the Viper we can use the standard ME nav points and the DTC nav points? The lack of cohesion in how this works between modules is confusing me because in the Fulcrum the ME navpoints only work for AI, and everything needs to be done via the DTC for player/client.

A simple route will work yes. But more advanced things such as offset points per steer point etc. Require DTC

I wish they set the Fulcrum up like that too. The current implementation is too convoluted for even a basic flight plan.
